Hello
Hoping someone can help. I have a Roomster which recently had a leak around the seals with steering rack. The guys at the garage advised it needed a new steering rack so we went ahead with that. It has been fitted and the Roomster is back with us but there are two problems;
1. Steering is slightly heavier - it seems to be driving ok but the steering is not quite as light as it used to be, it is not that the steering is heavy (as it feels like power steering is working) - but it's just that it feels slightly 'stiffer'.
2. Creaking/squeaking steering wheel - whenever I now turn the wheel more than say 20 or 30 degress, it makes this annoying 'creaking' sound.
It feels like something is not quite right and I am wondering what might be needed fix it - could the steering rack need calibrating or something? I am not sure if an original Skoda part was fitted (or whether that matters in this instance?) Sorry, I'm a novice with all this stuff!
Also, apologies if this has been covered in the forum elsewhere - I searched but couldn't see anything quite like this.
Thanks in advance
Dave
