  1. No, this behaviour is new - it started about a week ago! The only thing I haven't yet tried is disconnecting the battery for 10 mins (as reccommended by one AI source) although I fail to see how this is better than pulling the relevant fuse (No 12 in the dashboard fuse box). Anyway, as I said before, your interest in this 'problem' is appreciated!
  2. Hi Warrior193 and thanks for your interest in this tiny-but-oh-so-agravating problem! Yes, I can change to other modes, but the dashboard message (insert data card, etc) remains.
  3. I don't use my 2015 Octavia's navigation system (preferring online mapping) and in any case there has never been an SD card in the unit since I bought the car three years ago. Lately, when turning on the ignition, the Infotainment system starts in 'navigation' by default. The dashboard screen displays a permanent message requesting insertion of a suitable data card containing the necessary mapping for the system to work. To remove this permanent message, and to have the Infotainment system start up in the switch-off mode last used, I have tried the following, all to no avail: Leaving system in an alternative mode (e.g. 'media') when switching off the system/removing ignition key 'Soft' reset (holding the power button until system reboots etc) Restoring to factory settings Pulling Fuse 12 (causes loss of power to Infotainment system) and waiting 10 mins before replacing fuse Any suggestions to prevent the (unwanted) navigation mode from starting up - or removing the 'Insert data Card' message - would be appreciated!

  5. I have this 'problem' too. 2015 Octavia 180k miles. Sound appears to coincide with the switching of a solenoid on engine bay bulkhead at approx 1100rpm. Sound starts then and stops just below 1100rpm - all the time. Has anyone got to the bottom of this yet, or have these old Skodas just faded away since 2021?! All views welcome!!
  6. Came here looking for the answer to this very question!! Annoys the hell out of me, so I can't wait to get home to try the suggested fix!! Thanks (in anticipation) to all for input Ben (Ochixeng)
