  1. Still available ? I'm after blinds for my estate, I bet yours are for hatch.
  2. Lidl have aero roof bars for under £30 £25 here. I can't see why it makes sense to spend 5x that price on anything else.
  3. Is this post related to http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/skoda-octavia-vrs-2-0-fsi-turbo-16-326-drivethedeal-save-4023-0-finance-1043783 by any chance?
  4. Back on topic: OP, have a look at http://www.dabonwheels.co.uk/ You'll find what you need to get DAB working in your car.
  5. German regulator has recently approved a technical trial/soft launch of DAB+ services. In other digital radio news there is talk of trying DVB-T2 lite radio service in Denmark. Most new receivers will be DAB and DAB+ so could be used on both systems.
  6. Sadly DAB isn't doomed. Yes it's based on 80's technology and there are better alternatives out there, DAB+, DVB-T2-lite, LTE EMBMS and a whole host of others but nobody has the political stomach to tell consumers that their (expensive) DAB kit will be replaced. Unfortunately with such a large legacy population of receivers, DAB is here to stay, the BBC is committed to increasing DAB coverage (by increasing transmitter power) so things should get a bit better. 7. I have a 130hp PD A3 and a 210hp CR Octavia. The A3 surges forward and then runs out of gear at around 3500, repeating the trick more or less to around 85/90 mph at which point it keeps on going but with less surge. The Octavia OTOH doesn't really surge, it pulls all the way from 1200 to 4500 and keeps going until I decide I'm going fast enough I'd imagine your new car will feel slower but be the same, or slightly quicker, than your old one.
  8. Surely the best way depends on individual circumstances? What's right for one person will be wrong for someone else. If you have the cash available then it's probably cheapest to buy it outright, no loan. If not then a loan will probably be better. The PCP purchase could be the most expensive but still might be best. Why not just get quotes on all possible options and see which one suits best, with all factors taken into account?
  9. I had the same problem and the same solution on my 58 plate CR vRS.
  10. I'm sure it'll be fine. Lidl sells massive amounts of product in Germany, if it wasn't up to standard they'd be out of business. I picked some bargain roof bars whilst I was there. Under £30 for something that Thule want over £100 for.
  11. http://www.wheelcourier.com/ roughly £30 for 4 wheels and tyres Or FedEx, they'll charge around £20 + VAT. Sorted.
  12. Sounds like the spec is sufficient to allow it to run Mac OS X. Do some research on Hackintosh and you may be able to re-use it for a couple of hours of effort.
  13. 2Kg fire extinguisher from Ikea. It's powder so can be used on vehicle fires. At less than £25 it's not going to break the bank but might save a life one day. http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/50143351/ Much better than the, fankly, useless 500g/1kg units that are fitted where these things are mandatory.
  14. One of my neighbours is a chemical engineer working at the local refinery. She says that premium diesel is proof that with the right marketing you can sell anything. Anyone want to buy some Trionz Bracelets? http://www.trionz.co...p-bracelet.aspx
  15. My CR170 DSG hasn't given me any trouble since it was remapped in December. Would recommend it to anyone.
  16. Super stuff, really pleased to see that. Shows that people who look after customers will do well, even in tough times.
  17. Says a lot about the state of the country when a decent car advertised at around 2k takes a month to sell...
  18. I was browsing this and was about to ask what the 'Comfort' trim level included, I did a quick Google and found out for myself: http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/equipment/detail.aspx?deriv=23106#amount=16827&years=3 Hope it helps someone else. BTW, does it have any factory fit options?
  19. Is the dyno new, Ben? I don't remember it from when I visited in December.
  20. Another option is the Bury CC9060. I have an A3 with the above mentioned Parrot and my Octavia has the Bury unit as it was fitted by the previous owner. I'd say there's little to choose between the two, but here's my advice. If you want it for music the Parrot is the best option, I have been unable to get music streaming to work with the Bury. If you want it for handsfree calling the Bury is the best option. It allows 2 phones to be connected at once and the voice control is very good. You can make and take calls without ever taking hands off the wheel. They're both good solutions and I'd recommend either.
  21. Many home insurance policies will cover this under contents too, check with your provider.
  22. Model: 2008 Skoda vRS CR TDI Estate Problem : Control system for exhaust warning light. Glow plug system warning light starts blinking after awhile. Mileage: 47000 Solution: Exhaust and Throttle sensors replaced under warranty
  23. That's it. My vRS has a bit more than 170, so it was always going to be a shock.
