  1. Hi all We bought a new Kodiak a few months ago. Car is great but the experience was a nightmare. Car couldn't be registered initially due to a mix up at skoda uk. The handover was a mess. The car only came with a small manual. No service book. No leather binder with all the documents. The courtesy car we had for the intervening two weeks had all of the above, yet our new car didn't. Dealer states all necessary information is on line. Is this correct and should it have come with the full pack of docs? Thanks Sean
  2. Thanks. I was thinking the same. I'll top up with genuine and hope it's over the initial run in period.
  3. Hi All Our tdi kodiak was low on oil. 5k miles from new and was just off the bottom of the safe area on the dipstick. I was away and my partner went to halfords and was sold halfords 0W20. It's a API SN oil and the correct viscosity but not stated as 508 compatible. The guy in halfords explained to her it was not the recommended oil but the only one they had. She needed to use the car and put 250ml in. I'm not sure should I now drop all the oil and replace, or is this fine? The car covered just over 200 miles since being topped up. Any advice would be appreciated Thanks Sean
  4. Thanks for the link. I travel a lot around wales with my work and am often in north east wales hence Chester. However, Cardiff is as good as it gets for me so I'll definitely be speaking with them. Cheers Sean
  5. Thanks for all the advice. Just checked with the dealer and they confirmed it is rated to tow 2000kg so no issues with homologation. Would really appreciate if anyone has a few tips on installers. We're in South Wales but could get to Bristol, Chester etc. Has anyone had a towbar fitted on a non-prepped car at a main dealer and any idea of costs please? That would be my preference but I'm assuming it will be a case of open wallet surgery if they'll even do it.
  6. Thanks for the replies. The car hasn't arrived yet. We were clear to the dealer that we intended to use it as a caravan tow car so I'll go back and ask what the specific tow capacity is of that car. It's a 2.0 tdi se 4x4 dsg 7 seat. I googled and believe the manual version has zero towing capacity but I'm hoping the dsg version is OK. Otherwise we'll have to cancel the order and carry on looking.
  7. I apologise as this has probably been asked a lot but would really appreciate advice. I've bought a pre reg kodiak 4x4 dsg. It does not have tow prep. I've been given lots of different advice by dealers. They have said no dealer can fit a skoda towbar. One said that a 3rd party supplier cannot fit a towbar. Two said it can. One said I need a coolant upgrade. One said I didn't. Just wanted to know what the reality is please. I want to tow a caravan and just assumed the caravan club tow car of the year would be a bit more straightforward than this. Thanks Sean
