  1. Help!! I have a problem with the central locking on an Octavia 2 (2006 tdi). The remote control locks the car but I have to open it old-style with the key and this only opens the driver's door and doesn't switch the alarm off. I can open the other doors from inside the car but not the tailgate. The internal switch doesn't do anything either. I replaced the fuse for the control unit (fuse 12 on the chart) but that didn't solve the problem either.
  2. Tried the local suppliers but they don't stock these, i guess there's not much demand. Main Dealer is my last resort OR maybe a breaker's! Thanks.
  3. I have an Octavia 1.9 tdi on a 2006 plate. One of the heater hoses is leaking where it attaches to the block (not the heater end). The hose has maybe 3 bends in it. Anyone know where to source one of these? Are they easy to fit (looks like 2 spring clips) AND are there any vents to release any air trapped in the system? Thanks.
  4. Thanks. I've parked this for now because it's not an MOT item on this car. I'll try the junction box when I have time.
  5. Yes, I think those are the colours. I'll have to remove the airbox again to make sure (maybe tomorrow). Does this diagram show which fuse they are on?
  6. Thanks. It looks original fit. I guess the supply could be shared with something else. A wiring diagram might help, do you know where I can find one?
  7. Bloody hell, I've just replaced the airbox. I'm now an expert at this! It's a black plastic T type box, maybe 2" long and it looks like you can unclip the lid.
  8. Still wrestling with this. There's no current at the switch connector. I checked both pins with the ignition on and the car in reverse. Maybe there's a break in the cable somewhere? I noticed some sort of small junction box before the switch connector but I'm reluctant to open this as I'm not sure what it's for.
  9. Thanks. No parking sensors. Think I'll check the switch.
  10. My reversing lights don't work, there's no current at the bulb. Does anyone know if they are on a separate fuse? I looked in the owners manual, which suggests fuse no. 4, but I substituted a new fuse without success. I suspect it may be a faulty switch on the gearbox. I have a diesel Mk2 Octavia on an 06 plate.
  11. Thanks for the pics and the advice, I finally got it undone with some brute force and ignorance! The plug and socket came out together so I could then separate the 2 parts and it was easy to push the socket back into the lamp unit. Spent about 1 hour in total just to replace a sidelight bulb!
  12. I have the exact same problem; connector refuses to come apart. I can't see how the locking tab works; does anyone have a picture?
