Rear wiper will only stop if the control lever is pulled back (front windscreen wash)
Hello. Fabia MK2 estate 2014. The rear wiper motor stopped working so I replaced it with one off Ebay. It works fine. However, when the car is started the wiper starts up straight away. The only way to stop it is to pull the control lever back so that the front wash comes on and then the rear wiper stops. I did some searching and followed various guides about pulling out fuses 10, 26 and another one (can't remember which) to reset various things. That didn't work. I'm starting to think that it's the actual switch that's the problem. If I pull the lever back and the wiper stops, if I then click it to the on position and then back to the off position then the wiper carries on running until the lever is again pulled right back to activate the front wash. That makes me suspicious that the switch is failing to return to the off position. I read a report about someone spraying contact cleaner into the switch and that fixed it. Wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problem.

Is there a light level sensor on Fabia Mk3 and similar age Skodas?
I've got a Mk3 Fabia and the centre display and dashboard light levels flicker when it's dusk. It's fine in daylight and full darkness. So I guess there's a light sensor somewhere. Edit: I phoned my local Skoda dealer and the master tech said the sensor is part of the main instrument display and the display can flicker in variable light levels. Does anyone else have this happening? The light levels go up and down a bit, a bit like a faulty alternator in the cars of yore.

Dash light level fluctuates
I've tried the up/down reset. I've been told that the driver's side might be possible via software configuration but the passenger side lost the hardware on the mk3.

Greenscore
I want to know the rationale behind it because I am curious.

Greenscore
I tend to get around 80-85 from it most of the time. I'm just interested in how it works and what it's supposed to do. It seems a bit counter intuitive that things that improve the mpg sometimes reduce the greenscore.

Greenscore
I've been observing the green score calculations. It's got a few oddities. If I drive down a motorway at a steady speed then the score is higher when going up hill and drops when going down hill. I also get a much higher score on the 40mph roads near me with multiple roundabouts than I do when sitting on the flat motorway at, say, 55 mph. I can find no published information about the greenscore and the manual only makes a passing reference to it. I'm still a bit confused by it, but think that it could be based on pollutants, since under loaded engines can produce worse results than if they are loaded.

Dash light level fluctuates
Hello. I had a Mk2 Monte Carlo estate from 2018 to last month. Great car a 1.2 TSi. I recently swapped to a Mk3 estate Monte Carlo, this time a 1.0 TSi which I really like. Only downgrade is lack of single touch electric windows. Anyway, the only issue I have is that the dash light levels seem to fluctuate. I can be driving along and the level will noticeable drop or rise. This happens occasionally. My first thought was that the voltage regulator on the alternator could be to blame. The change in level is only noticeable at night. I'm wondering if there's some ambient light sensor that it uses to change the level. The other odd thing is that I'm sure the windscreen wipers have some intelligence. They won't come on automatically, but on intermittent I'm sure it makes some decisions based on rain level. Maybe I'm imagining it.
