  1. It seems i cannot edit my story. But to add on to the above, i'm not here to just take away all your knowledge and info, hopefully i can be of help to you guys as well. I've been a car guy for well over a decade. I work on my own cars and have a Nissan S14 and a Honda EP3 on the side. Cheers and the best to all of you!
  2. Hi all! Due to family expansion, we've decided its time for a station wagon. We've bought the Octavia 3 5E station wagon. It's a 2013 model with the 1.4 TSI engine on LPG. We've however noticed a few things we've like rectified. Because it was a private sale, I'll have to fix all the mishaps myself. First, and foremost, the engine lights comes on intermittently. Reading the codes show a permanent P2177. When cleared, it would come back randomly and sometimes it's in the pending codes. Another code that have come up while idling (flashing engine light) is P0302 (cyl 2 misfire). I'll make an thread for this issue. Ordered a copy of VCDS to start analysing the issue with actual data as my current OBD is unable to read out all of the available PIDs. Secondly, we'd like to upgrade to the newer radio. Thought it was as easy as replacing the screen/radio, but turns out it's a lot more involved than that... Originally it's the one with a mini screen 5E0919605B (MIB1 Bolero??), and we bought a 5E0919605N, which obviously didn't work without the expensive head unit. So i'll need your help to figure that one out and even weigh in whether it's sensible at all or just go for an aftermarket screen/radio. I may create a new separate thread for this one as well. Thirdly, the auto dimmer rear view mirror seems to be turn off or disabled, the button does nothing at all. This model is also supposed to have rain sensing wipers, but those also do not work! Other than that, great car! Drives great, plenty of space and we find it very luxurious (xenon blacked headlights, auto folding, cruise, start stop) compared to the Polo 6R we upgraded from.
