Hey all, wondering anyone can help.I have started noticing a pool of liquid under where the car is parked daily. i tried to have a look under the car and I can see drops dropping down off a grey bit of the underside of the car but not sure what this is. i am not sure its oil because i have noticed this for while so would think we would have noticed a low oil warning by now. if you zoom in below you can see the droplets forming on the grey bit. any thoughts ?

Hi All, So I really tried to probe but didn't really get an answer other than the fact they agree with me it was the clutch and they changed it. Car is now all good and I did not hear any noises driving it home. I think what really helped my case was having the video/audio recordings. Video is good as it shows it makes the noise as the car changes gear. I also found a couple youtube shorts with the same issue and the fact in the comments the owners reported the clutch was eventially replaced. Just worries me a clutch going after 50k miles on a 5 ish year old car but I gues I don't know how the previous owner drove it or looked after it. Just glad I got it sorted and Cinch footed the bill as it would have been very expensive if not.

Seems by looking on here but also searching youtube etc. that this is a common issue. I think this is how I got Skoda to check and shared loads of video links to other peoples issue and what Skoda did about it then. Good luck, let us know how you get on

Just for reference, Skoda quoted 4.6 hours labour to do the work plus parts

Hey All, I thought I would give another update for anyone with a similar issue. After a second time going back to Skoda along with video recorings of the noise plus my own investigation of others haveing similar issue Skoda agreed with me that the clutch needs replacing. Amazingly also Cinch approved the replacement even though the car is out of their warranty beciuase I raised it whilst it still was. Hoping to get her back tomorrow afternoon, whining free

Aircon definitely off , but fan on setting 1.Will have to try that but I remember trying this last time and the fan off etc. the noise was still there

Well Cinch kindly booked the car into local Skoda dealer but after a short drive around the block could not replicate the issue/noise. seems the noise comes after it has been driven for a while, here is the noise Issue now is the car is out of the Cinch 3 month warranty today so guess I have to now wait and see if anything gets worse. i have messaged them again and will see what they say but not holding much hope.Anyone have any thoughts on the noise. The car is a 1.5DSG Karoq, 2018 model

Thanks @smipx I bought the car through Cinch (yes I know) and they have booked it into my local Skoda dealer so I am hoping they can have a look. I bet though, murpheys law, it won't make a sound so I will need to try and record it better

Thanks Paul, yes you are right it’s different.It happens even when the car is already running so not started motor.I think my example record makes it’s sound like it was prt if that start but it’s when I move off from standstill . Could it be the clutch I’m not sure

@tootits a 1.5 DSG FWD, no 4WD.Mot sure what DSG though.The video in my last post shows the noise very briefly after the engine turns over after stopping

actually listening back, found the recording.Mine is a different noise.It’s when I am pulling off just as the clutch releases it whines and then disappears Hi Paul, it’s Paul 😁 sorry to drag up an old thread but I have just recently bought a used ,2018, Skoda Karoq dSG and have started to notice a whining noise as you describe.Mostly when pulling off and occasionally when going I to 2nd and 3rd. Your recording is no longer available but wondering if it is the same as mine. Do you still have the car, does it still make that noise and have you noticed any further issues. I am happy to live with it if I know it’s kinda normal
