Hi All
Just registered, have been lusting after a new Skoda Superb Estate for a few years and finally took delivery today of an SE Technology iV in petrol blue. I'm a huge fan of big lazy looking estate cars, how they look, handle and the sheer practicality.
I placed an order for one 5 years ago as a company car but was pipped to the post by another employee so had to settle for an Insignia Sports Tourer which to be fair has been a great car.
It was handed back today with 110k on it and apart from a couple of emission sensor issues over the 5 years, it's been a great tourer on the motorways and I'll miss it. It was a diesel often returning 55 mpg with a mix of cross-country and motorway journeys.
I'm a great cycling fan, especially TdF so Skoda's profile in that respect is right up my street.
Was delivered this morning with 55 miles on the clock and about 80% charge on the battery. I did a trip to Hanger Lane for a job that involved the A41 down to the M25 then the M40/A40.
On returning home to Milton Keynes average mpg was reported as 65 which is pretty good I assume?
I hadn't yet worked out all the regen settings so the trip there was set to eco but not any of the B settings. I set that for the trip home, not sure if that would make a difference on the average I got.
Enjoying it so far but am a bit miffed that given the length of time from placing the order ( December 2022) to delivery the new model is about to be launched.
I'm looking to get an external socket installed outside, purely for granny charging. Should I go with a standard weatherproof socket or something else? I have seen some posts about commando sockets and the like.
Currently charging from a socket in the garage running under the garage door to the car. Would appreciate any advice before I engage an electrician to install the socket.
Looking forward to sharing my feedback and advice I may need going forward
