Fixed it! Lots learnt! - The switch was not faulty, the problem was the left-hand low beam bulb: I measured the voltage at the rear of the (black) holder: there was voltage there. I had a heck of a job getting the bulb holder out (process described in ( ). When I looked at the bulb, it seemed okay but didn't shine when I tested it separately, with a 9V battery (and no continuity across the terminals with the multimeter). So I went and bought 2 replacement bulbs (1 spare!). I tried one on the left-hand low beam bulb connector, outside the shop: it worked! But the right-hand low beam stopped working! I was annoyed and banged the right-hand low beam headlamp shell - and the light came on again! What an adventure Still, great that it all works: I have some long journeys over the next few days. @Gizmo Thank you so much for your quick reply! I waited until today before replying because the replacement switch I bought was delivered yesterday evening, and I just got the old switch out now: it came out without any problems! Sadly, I connected the replacement switch and the low beam lights still didn't work. The low beam indicator light on the left-hand dial comes on, so it's nearly right! (The switch seller had conveniently left the old connector at the end of the switch with cut wires in it, so I'm sure it's the right way round.) So close! I'm going to use a multimeter to see if power is going to the actual bulbs: I checked all likely fuses and none were blown. Mysterious! Piob1638

Postings in this forum {thanks!) have led me to discover that the low beam lights on my Roomster 2011 (most likely) don't work because the round light switch on the dashboard, to the right of the steering wheel, is faulty. I bought this car second-hand 2 months ago: the low beams worked then.. Fuses and bulbs checked. All okay. I bought a replacement switch on eBay today. I can remove the plastic ring with the different setting marked on it (with a thin knife blade) ... but how do I remove the switch? I read in a topic by @moleinaroomster and@richardsun that replacement is a two-minute job. I can't tug the switch out and I see no retaining screws. Help gratefully accepted! Piob1638
