  1. We have all heard about window problems also keys unable to be copied , but listen to this ,,,steves story Replaced all running gear ,back and front ,mk1 skoda roomster 1,6 16v (power without turbo assist and chain ) Unfortunately i couldnt drive for a while, also i needed duplicate keys ,in the meantime fitted new drive shafts and repaired a leaking lower washer bottle pipe .also booked an auto electrician , Now car wouldnt start ! process of finding the problem ....still no luck,,,i then changed the starter motor ,(yes it just packs up ,) my instinct in the old days was to check the starter motor, but as the keys were about to be copied ,jumped that crucial stage , i kept my didnt work key (retrospectively best thing i did),auto electrician had another job with window malfunction and no communication with ecu /bcm unit , He checked drivers door switch ,! and linked/bypassed switch wires ,result communication with car problem solved ,IT WAS THE ELECTRIC WINDOW SWITCH phoned and offered me that advice ,and then i remember windows not operating till summer ,!!!!!! Finally i used my not working key ,BACK ON ROAD in conclusion .Wanted spare keys but starter motor had packed up at the same time , with a communication fault adding to the confusion ,a fine old mix ,ALL UP AND RUNNING NOW Steve
  2. thanks, yes couldn't fit the ones advised by ebay so got the proper longer roomster scout ones... but just not happy with road noise from the 205/45/16 not yet checked if the standard roomster alloys, with a matching profile for circumference, would clear the discs? 🙄
  3. Just a note,I've a skoda roomster scout, but i purchased 2 rear shocks, matched with. ebay... does these fit.? No, If anyone has a scout the shocks are longer!!! if you could fit the shorter shocks, would ride weirdly low.
  4. Looks like my problem isnt solved, as i thought, back to drawing. board (Skoda roomster scout 2007, 1.6)
  5. Electric windows stop working? after battery reconnected. the method in the owners manual can be confusing, especially with 1 key Method with ignition key turned on and battery disconnected. (ps leave rear manual window open to access just in case) 1.connect battery. 2.close bonnet 3.remove key from ignition 4.use key to lock drivers door and hold key for 3 seconds 5.repeat 4 open drivers door with remote should now work.. no open circuit wires!!!
  6. Just to add further investigation to skoda roomster rear axle assembly cures? i totally. replaced all lower suspension components (car itself body and interior like new). after 2 weeks the infamous creaking when rocking!! 😒 Just repeated the original method of tightening, the cross bolts through rubber bushes, with baggage in boot, This time using an air gun socket used on wheel bolts. 120 nm. no noises. when rocked side to side, because the centre of bush (metal to metal) is torqued against the retaining bracket.... phew
