  1. Yeah the funny thing is direct line didn't mind me putting in £500 worth of ICE, they said anything under a grand is fine!
  2. I have a 54 plate fabia vrs and got a quote from the local dealer of £150 for cruise control fitted, however, when I asked direct line a while ago (several months) they said I can't modify the car until I'm 25 (Aug 23rd this year). The point is though that cruise control is available as a factory fit option from new and I wouldn't have thought it necessary to declare it if it was bought with it fitted as new. Much like I didn't declare the rain sensitive wipers on my seat ibiza.... Does cruise retrofit require reporting to insurance company? And if people are reporting it did it increase the policy much? Thanks for any help.
  3. Hello there, I am curious about the engine found in the fabia VRS, has the same one been used in audis/vw's as it is found in the fabia or do they use different engines in their cars? A colleague of mine has just bought an audi a3 1.9tdi which I discovered has 114bhp or there abouts where I suspected it'd be 130 like the fabia.... Thanks.
  4. Avoid continentals, they are known for sidewalls cracking, I have a friend who works at kwik fit and he says it happens loads with them. I've just got some pirelli p zero's on the back recently and I'm about to get two on the front, so I can't give a proper verdict yet on them yet...
  5. Does the symphony head unit in the fabia vrs have a sub output? If so can anyone suggest a sub that won't take up much boot space and will add a nice touch of bass? Thanks.
  6. Well I collected my vrs today having had a bit of paintwork sorted out before collection and its absolutely superb, I test drove an ibiza fr before the vrs and the vrs just totally blew it away, felt much better built (I know they are both VAG anyway...), seemed much bigger, more refined, much better brakes (could have been individual FR though), but altogether better. I personally chose the vrs as it is at a good price, you get very good quality, very ample power (been enjoying it this evening), excellent economy and the insurance was even a fiver a month less than the FR! A big bonus from my point of view is I have only owned one car, the 1.2 ibiza sx, I see reviews saying the vrs rolls in corners a lot etc but to me it feels like a F1 car in comparison to my old car, corners much better, belts along in a straight line, I don't think I could have bought a better car!
  7. Hi folks, my name is John and I am set to collect my silver fabia vrs on wednesday 29th aug Can't wait! Finally getting some power under my right foot as I've been stuck with my first car, a 1.2 3 cylinder seat ibiza for 30 months due to insurance costs, but now insurance is reasonable and I've found the car for me. p.s. Oh and Jonan Rapsonan is a nickname pronounced "yonan"
