  1. To preface we have just got back from a 1500 miles round trip around scotland. The last two days we did about 500 miles of that trip back home. We had also travelled some rough single track dirt roads at times so the octy has had it a little rough. On the final 5 miles of the trip We stopped off at the supermarket to pick some food up and I noticed on leaving that at around 2000RPM in any gear when I put my foot down on the accelerator there would be a delay before it would then jump up. This is the first time it has happened I have since driven it again after it had cooled and found no issues. However, I want to keep the car as long as possible so want to get a lot of it sorted. I have seen some potential causes one being the timing belt which I was already awaiting parts to do that anyway but want to know if anybody on here has any other suggestions. I did recently going away scan it with VCDS and got the fault code P1855 - Data Bus Power Train Software Version Control which cleared and did not return. Don't know if that was purely down to me disconnecting the battery a couple times as I scanned it a week earlier and did not have that issue. I have also been underneath it and noticed the pipe between to turbo and intercooler is a little wet.
  2. Hi, I am going away in the Octavia next week with the possibility of staying in it overnight if need be. However, I want to disable the alarms so if we knock it it won't go off. I have seen videos of a button that disable it on MK2 onwards but I could not see anything for mk1s. Ideally I would like to fully disable it. I have disabled internal monitoring with vcds but that doesn't prevent it going off if knocked to much. I don't know if it helps or makes it harder but it is a very late model 2008 I know they continued with them for a while for taxis and tradesmen so don't know if it has any newer alarm system. Currently my only option is disconnecting the battery.
