  1. Yep apologies, that's what I meant by "real rain", IE not simulated via the wash wipe. It was usually most annoying when either selecting reverse or when it was light rain. I do need to get the dealer to look at two other rain related issues though. Driver side front parking sensor goes mad sometimes when there's heavy rain, plus front wiper motor makes a clicking type noise after 10-15 mins of use. But been too lazy to book it in yet.
  2. Now fitted and tested in real rain conditions and I can happily report it's silky smooth operation!
  3. Haha, you're faster than me. Mine arrived yesterday and still not fitted them. Good news though!
  4. I replied to them asking how long the lead time was and they said they were trying to get it out the next day and apologised. I wonder if others ordered as well and they got an avalanche of orders 😆
  5. They've just emailed me saying that they are still waiting on stock 😂
  6. I've just ordered this. The noise from the rear wiper was annoying me too much. https://www.wiperblades.co.uk/suv-1-years-2022-to-2024-wiper-blades/bosch-a284h-wiper-blade
  7. Yep agreed. The latest software does fix the issue. It's does have a slight glitch though. It connects for a few secs, disconnects, reconnects, disconnects, then reconnects. After that the connection is stable. This takes a minute or so. At least that's what happens for me.
  8. Agreed it is a pain. Especially when you forget to do it. It can be a little temperamental as well as it doesn't always work. It could be when I do it too fast though. I think you can't do it straight after you start the car. Seem to need to wait a bit for it to connect properly. Although I've noticed something similar with even the wired connection. I don't hold out hope of there being an actual fix though as these headunits have been around a while.
  9. Update: The toggle WiFi off and on does seem to work. I just tried it today again for two separate journeys and after the usual disconnect after 10s, I switched the WiFi off, waited a few seconds and then switched if back on again. Bingo! Worked twice for me now so far. Kudos to @Jonno_vRSfor coming up with the workaround. Very surprising though that Skoda aren't fixing this issue.
  10. I've also had the exact same issue since I bought the car back in July. It will connect for about 10 secs wirelessly if I've used android auto wired previously but then drops the connection. I've tried toggling the WiFi off and then on again and then select Android Auto from the Columbus unit, but it always fails to connect wirelessly. The integrated e-sim gets switched off when doing this as well. I've tried deleting all phones from the unit and then re-adding my Samsung Galaxy s22, starting with the wire and letting AA setup. Then I pull the usb, AA drops and then I try toggling WiFi off and then back on again, but no joy in it connecting, even if I select AA from the head unit. Am I missing something?
  11. Just stumbled across this post. I'll try the workaround tomorrow. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/518101-android-auto-wireless-disconnects-after-10-seconds-columbus-system/
  12. Apologies in resurrecting an old thread, but does this work reliably for people? I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 and 2023 Kodiaq Sportline with Columbus head unit. What I find is it will work if I go through the steps listed above, and may work the next time I get in the car. But after that it will fail to connect properly. Is it reliable for everyone?
  13. No wonder in MY2023 they decided to get rid of the Eco icon, it's all too confusing. But then you get people like me who wonder if 2 cylinder mode is even working 🙂 As for fuel economy I find it's OK. Not stellar approaching 40mpg on a good run, but then it is a big car. My previous car was a 1.6 diesel Nissan Qashqai+2 and I reckon the Qashqai was nearly 50% more efficient than the Kodiaq, based on the car's claimed MPG. But diesel is evil now, so had to switch to a petrol. But I do quite a low mileage these days so it's fine. It's probably about as efficient as my 2003 Audi A4 1.8T, which was obviously a much smaller, lighter car from 20 years. I don't change cars very often 😄
  14. Yeah I agree with you linni, it's very confusing naming. They seem to use an Eco symbol with a circle arrow around it to indicate 2 cylinder mode. And a leaf to indicate the Eco driving mode. I noticed with the Eco driving mode the car tends to go into coasting (neutral) more readily than in Normal mode and the throttle response is not as good either. I guess the thinking is that these combined help the fuel efficiency. If the car is coasting it's not slowing down as quickly because there's no engine braking and hence you need to use the throttle a little less. However, I do wonder how much these little tricks do actually help. Is it actually noticeable? And then coupled with the complications of implementing the tech, does the car become less reliable?
  15. Thanks kodaiqsportline! Looks like they've updated the software and manual. There's no indicator for 2 cylinder ACT mode anymore. Although the feature is briefly mentioned on page 124. See pictures from the manual below. This puts my mind at ease now :-). They probably decided it wasn't worth giving the driver the extra info.
