Hi all Got a 2010 Octavia estate with the 105bhp BXE engine. It's just a bit gutless, so am considering one of those stage 1 remaps for a few extra horses and some more torque. Given the controversial nature of the BXE engine, is this a terrible idea? For context, it's done 115k and is regularly serviced. Cheers for the opinions!

Good evening all. I recently picked up a 2010 Octavia with the 1.9 TDI 105 BXE engine. I have noticed that, compared to my old high mileage 2006 with the same engine, that at idle the engine seems a touch lumpier an there’s a minor vibration that can be felt in the cabin. this vibration is accompanied by a vibrating type sound- almost like the sound of the dash being vibrated but I don’t think it is. The sound continues up to around 1500rpm, whereafter it seems to smooth out and sound normal. car drives fine above 1500, plenty of power, but can be a bit more of a tractor below 1500 which I feel is a quirk of that engine. any pointers are much appreciated xx
