  1. Wow, awesome piece of information! Are those numbers in brackets some references I could read up on? Funny thing is, I can measure 12.2 V on the battery and the car always starts up effortlessly. Rookie question, but can I somehow measure the state of the battery? I have a multimeter.
  2. Hey, I've had a weird problem with my 2011 Fabia. Once upon starting the car up, most electronic components fell out of order, like: Rear lights (including brake lights) Blinkers (including hazard lights) Interior lighting Dashboard lighting Screen wipers ABS, ESP according to the dashboard I had low pressure in the tires, according to the dashboard Whatever else I didn't notice Later I tried to detach and reattach the battery, thus "force resetting" the car, and the issue went away. It really sounds like some computer problem, so I'm curious if there is some computer that controls all these things. Or is there another single point of failure? I have two other known electric issues, if that's important: front fog lights don't work despite every bulb and fuse is perfect, and the trunk won't open sometimes, as if some electric contact would be unreliable at the opening button. (Also, sorry if this is a repost, I honestly don't even know how to search for this problem.)
  3. Jocko, I guess you could improve your brightness with an extra bulb. Those bodies should enclose two, it even says "bi-halogen".
  4. So, I have bought a Fabia from 2011 (so MkII facelift), and it has non-projector halogen headlights. After driving it for a few days, I realized that the brightness of a halogen lamp really depends on the bulb and on how much the body has faded. Thus, for anyone worrying on the same thing - any headlight type will do just fine. Maybe you'll have to buy a more expensive bulb, though.
  5. Oh, I didn't even notice the eyebrows. But I haven't only seen those refractors on vRS models, here is a non-vRS example.
  6. I actually don't have a Fabia, I'm currently looking at the market to buy my first car. I'd have budget for a MkII Fabia (year around 2009-2011, so probably pre-facelift.) And browsing through secondhand offers, I found headlights that look like this and others that look like this. Also, there are models with this, although I only saw it on facelifted models. I wonder what the difference is. I have previously driven an Opel Astra G and a 20-ish-year-old BMW in the family, both had weaker than usual headlights, so other drivers regularly blinded me outside of residential areas, even with their high beams off. So I wondered if there is any practical difference between those types of headlights.
  7. Hey, newbie here. I have recently discovered that some Fabia MkII headlights look different. I tried to investigate this but got lost among Xenon, HID, halogen, etc. and could not find useful info. Does anyone know what types of headlights the Fabia MkII comes with? How can I tell them apart? What are the pros and cons of each? Thanks!
  8. Hey, I've been asked be the "new to forum" post to introduce myself here, like everyone else. I don't have a Skoda (yet), I'm actually thinking of buying one. I am here to find out some technical info and maybe get opinions. Expect my posts in the Fabia forum.
