  1. I finally fixed this and it was the relay! The soldering was a little difficult (or my soldering station was to cheap) but otherwise it was pretty easy. Had an Omron G8NW-2U relay in my car.
  2. Thanks Pete! So it's the same on Mk2? Is there some way to know for sure that it's this relay?
  3. Hi, I really hope someone can help me. The windshield wipers on my Fabia suddenly stopped working. The first few times they started to work again but then they were completely dead. Everything else on the same stalk works, washers, rear wipers etc. The wipers do not start if I use the washer either. It's not the motor or linkage because I have connected the wiper motor with new cables from the battery so I can start them with a button inside the car and it works great. I have checked all the fuses and they are all ok. I have 12 V to fuse 44 for the windshield wipers. I've measured the voltage on the plug to the motor and I only have 5-6 V on high and low speed (pin 1 and 2) depending on how I position the stalk. I always have 5-6 V on pin 3 that I think is for the return of the wipers to parking position. Pin 4 is ground and I have the same voltage if i measure between the pins or between pin and negative on battery so it shouldn't be bad ground. According to the wiring diagram in Haynes handbook the cables on the plug to the wiper motor comes from the vehicle voltage control unit, it feels like that's the problem. I'm not sure what this is, is it the ECU or is it something else? Is it likely that only the wipers stops working if something is wrong with the ECU? Could it be something else? I thought I could try and replace the stalk but it doesn't seem likely that it's the problem since I get voltage on different pin on plug when I change position on the stalk. And also since the stalk is connected to the vehicle voltage control unit and not directly to the wiper motor. Thankful for any ideas!
