  1. I've found a good deal on some new easy-fit chains for the officially recommended tyre size so I'm going with them.
  2. In the manual it says that 205/60/R16 and 205/55/R17 are suitable for mounting snow chains but I think that is just from a clearance point of view. Obviously slightly smaller diameter wheels will be less likely to foul anything.
  3. New member here, wondering if the forum can help. I have a 2023 Octavia, replacing an old faithful 2015 Octavia. We travel to Austria to ski every xmas and the previous car had a set of 205/55 R16 konig easyfit chains (highly recommended). Thing is, the new car sits on 205/60 R16 as standard and the old chains don't fit. I'm just about to order a set of steel wheels + winter tyres and I'm wondering I can safely order and run 205/55 R16 winter tyres with the old chains. I'm sure my speedo will be out slightly but I mostly confirm in kph via gps anyway.
