  1. Did the same on my MkIV GTI when it was less than a month old - very annoying. Have not used a scraper since. The best alternative is Autoglym de-icer. Excellent stuff and no damage to paintwork, worked even in the Artic winters of a few years ago.
  2. Thinking of leaving the fold for a Ford S-Max. Would like a seven seater and it seems the best option. Really upset Skoda don't do one! If they ever do I will be back in an instant. Anyway Ford dealer offered my £5.8k for my 30k mile 1.2 TSI (85 bhp) SE Estate, has the safety pack (ESP and cornering lights). Going to go around a few dealers but to me seems a little low to me. Have never sold a car privately before but tempted to try it if they don't budge much on price. Do you think I would get much more?
  3. About 15. I was once given a brand new car to test by a dealer. The one with the yellow sticker if you know who I mean. To be fair though I think that car was going to be a demo. Sure that has not happened with yours? 95 is a lot of miles. I bought a pre registered Mini last year. It had 35 miles on the clock when I collected it and I know 20 of those were mine on the test drive.
  4. Weirdly I just saw my old MkIV 1.8T GTI on the road tonight. Although not that fast it was a car I loved and always regreted selling. I had practicaly every option in the brochure fitted to it. Sold it on impulse for GTI 150 TDI within 2 years, regretted it within six months! I suffer the same as you very impulsive on changing cars, PCP does not help much either!
  5. Cool you did the PCP the correct way with minimal deposit. In real terms I think getting a new car that way is the cheapest form of motoring. The VRS sounds like the car you describe you want. Kids get bigger and it is always good to have some space. An up or panda will be a compromise to far. And every time you see a Fabia at the lights you will wish you still had it.
  6. Yes you are going crazy, stick with the VRS unless you really can not afford it anymore. On PCP you need to look beyond the monthly costs. 60 sounds a good saving but it is only 720 a year and I bet the dealer will take more that that off you to chop it in early. If you can retain your original deposit back then I am wrong. It is easy to get excited car shopping and get sucked in to the new car purchase process.
  7. Was thinking about this a bit nore and then realised that I feel the same about Hyundia and Kia. Ned to go and test one to cure myself.
  8. I always judge people I work with by car choice. Perhaps a little sad but I think if that is how they spend their own money it will tell me lot about how they spend will the company money.
  9. Why do you need pictures? A few people have told you it works so trust them. Has the middle east has it not inspired you to go Land Crusier? Awesome car, was driven around in one when I was out last year. Even through armed checkpoints i felt safe and comfortable in one.
  10. If you are after space and into impulse get an old RS6 Estate, in your budget and much much more interesting than the ones listed.
  11. Not a VRS but standard Fabia with two kids in seats, lots of room in the back. Much better than the S60 Volvo I had before. I am 6'2" and even with maxi cosi isofix baby carrier system it worked. Remember the Fabia and all Skodas are built for eastern european markets, people dont have as much cash so they are built to be one size bigger. Next size of car up does not always mean bigger in the back.
  12. Nice, they all do the badge thing. Only dodgy part of a Fabia. Sport is a nice looking car,and the 1.2 is a fun engine.
  13. I know it is not for everyone and a divisive thing on forums. If the dealer is big enough and they have a used and new car sales team you can sometimes play them off against each other to get a good deal.
  14. Would support he Finance comment. With the 0% deal at the moment a new one will probably cost you less than a second hand one over three years.
  15. Surely you will get a TSI for 7k? Paid just over 10 for our Estate new two years ago.
