So after taking the under tray off to service the car I notice a leak from the transfer case or the shaft seal. At first glance it looks like it will be a time consuming job to get at it. I did notice recently that when I am cruising sometimes when coming off or on the accelerator slightly I can hear a slight clunking noise that at first sounded like it was coming from the rear of the car. But now after seeing this leak I am wondering is it related. so has anyone come across a similar issue with the leak or noise. any tips? cheers.

Yep I got the reg and it is also a cffb. So it work out nicely 😎

On the timing belt cover of my car and that of the a3 engine it just says CFF. Where as other cars I have seen CFFB so that’s kind of how the confusion started. But as Pete said it is incomplete on those stickers for some reason and it is in fact a Cffb.

@Trapdoorthanks for the reply. Yes I had a look through that before. Which was a confusing read. But I couldn’t see anything on the CFF. I could see CFFB, CFFD But no CFF. Mostly my question is if I buy a CFF engine from an Audi A3 should the bare engine be the exact same as my CFF in the superb?

Hi all, I have a engine code cff in my superb currently and have decided to buy a spare non runner engine to put on a stand and take apart and put back together over the winter months just to familiarise myself with these 2.0 common rail engines as I have not rebuilt one before. On results from Google I can’t find a simple answer as to what is the difference in Cff and Cffb. Also what other cars came with the cff code. I have located a cheap cff engine out of a A3 with bottom end knock that would be perfect for my intentions. But are they the same as what came in the superb? Thanks in advance for anyone who can answer this.

Hello from ireland, i have been using this site for a while now and said it was time to join and start picking peoples brains and asking simple stupid questions. i am currently driving a 2011 superb 4x4 dsg. whitch i love dearly. i am very tall and have never felt comfort like in the superb for the price bracket. they really are super!
