  1. So an update. Jacked the car one more time. Couldn’t find anything wrong with the shocks or springs. There’s a bit of rust on the rear passenger spring, but nothing too terible. Looked for anything that may look bent or broken off and found nothing. The springs are 40mm. My friend said that if the car hadn’t been lowered that much and wasn’t on wheel spacers, i would never notice this. After some more measurements, the car sits about 2,5mm (1/5cm) lower on driver rear respectively. Could be the cars weight distribution. Maybe the gas tank is slightly more to the left. But in conclusion there doesn’t seem to be any faults in the rear coils and shocks. However the structural integrity of the coil is sometimes hard to diagnose, so i think i will be changing all four coils in the upcoming months, probably a bit before summer. Maybe make the car sit a bit higher 😅
  2. Forgot to mention that the car isn’t really high on mileage, so i thinkthe coil wear shouldn’t be too big, if any.
  3. I had some specialist take a quick look at the shocks and springs when i got my alignment today, and they haven’t noticed any faults. They said it could just be like that, meaning the spring set lower on driver rear. I have to say tho i really noticed this first when i got the wheels changed. After the coils got extended it seems they settled lower then before. I think the car was not driven for some time before i bought it but im not sure. Ill check up on factory hight specs and ill get back to you. Thank you.
  4. Hello! Just recently bought an octavia vrs230 and was wondering if the coils are too low. Cars rear is sitting extremely low to the point where i can only stick two fingers thru the fenders. (currently on 17inch winter rims but its the same with 19s) Dont know much about what the previous owner did with it since it’s and import, but the car seemed perfect condition on the initial checkout. I do now it has h&r street coils (im guessing 40mm) and the thing to make your profile wider ( don’t know the english word for it). It also sits 0,2-0,3 mm lower on drivers rear then it does on passenger rear. Haven’t noticed anything unusual with the ride, and also havent felt tires scrape in the wheel well. Is it something that needs fixing or am i just overthinking? Thank you.
