Changing the coolant hardline pipe (038121065AB)
Hi guys, just wanted to post this excelent physics explanation of very common leaks that could happen on these cases and VWs. Could explain what really is happening on my car, after all this mission to replace everything led from water temp still comes on but only from time to time, i will be check everything again.. Also found a way to test for any leak, drain system and inject 10psi of air on the return line with circuit closed and let sit for 10 min and check for leaks.. Saw this on a video, going to try and see what the gauges shows.. Any further recommendations? Best regards and thank you again for both users who replied. https://intrepidoverland.com/bad-coolant-pressure-cap-or-bad-head-gasket/

Changing the coolant hardline pipe (038121065AB)
Here are some pictures when it was all opened! A word for anyone who has this problem. get ready for some dirty work More even if you just had mayo from oil cooler problem. i think now its just a matter of cleaning everything.. Next adventure will be swapping out tandem pump which is leaking some diesel and oil but not alot thats why everything looks so dirty.. and engine bay hasnt been cleaned for a long time.. If anyone knows good products for that please let me know.. I tried some brake cleaner spray but its way to dirty, would probably waste 4-5 cans to clean everything.. And yes you can clearly tell this pipe had to be swapped considering the amount of rust it had, first engine turn on was completely diferent, first of all it stayed at 30ºc for quite sometime, never did that before.. and so far no leaks!!

Hi, @HeavyMetalRich! Thanks for your awnser! The engine is ATD 1.9tdi Just managed to finish the mission a few moments ago and until now seems like a success. Had to bend the new pipe slightly so it could fit, not oem part.. Got scared for a few moments but finaly managed it.. Engine heated up to 75ºc, thermostat opened, water circulated no problem and temperature started lowering imediately and until now no leaks. Seems like a managed. The housing i just removed it used same gasket and bolts and didnt seem to have any leak. However il probably order that gasket and ask a proper mechanic to bolt everything down to spec. As i tried with the torque wrench but got to scared with the bolts braking on the block, might aswell leave that part for the pros. Its scary to see parts firmly bolted down and the bolts still spinning freely while torque wrenching it. No leak seems good so far.. Will post here some pictures of how everything was when it was opened.. until now seems like everything worked out. 💪

Thank you so much for your awnser sepulchrave! I wish i had posted this before and got that awnser before opening the whole car! Anyway i think it would be pretty hard to fix the leak like that considering the place where it was.. Plus im pretty sure this is the original pipe and the car is from 2001 so its all rotted inside after about 3 or 4 mayo coolant happenins on my hands.. Dont know how many could have happend on the previous owners.. Now its my turn to fix it the right way and get this coolant system looking like new.. The objective is to have the expansion looking pink for many years to come and with no oill!! Challenge is now accepted, if you have any other tips let me know! btw does anyone now the part numbers for the screws and gasket for the oil housing?? I checked on another thread and someone said i have to put new ones and then screw them diagonally?

Changing the coolant hardline pipe (038121065AB)
Hi guys! I decided to embark on this mission of replacing this pipe after a continous coolant leak that i found on this pipe. It looked kind of a quick job after checking some youtube videos. Couldnt find any specific video to the skoda fabia, but found one for the polo, which made it seem like a relatively quick job.. After taking out all the screws that mount on the block, removing all coolant connections, shifter connections and the oil feed that goes from the oil housing to the upper part on the block, which kind of took the whole day, i thought well now its just swapping the pipe.. Or so i thought.. I have tried pretty much all angles but it keeps hitting the oil filter housing, so now i think i must remove the whole oil filter housing aswell.. And i think i have to remove the whole housing thats mounted to the block, as i think this is the only way this pipe will come off, because of the crazy turns it has it hits pretty much everything in its way.. I would like to know if any has had this problem and had to this task. It seemed like an easy one but now im pretty overwelmed with the task, however the car is all opened now so i must get this mission done.. I will post some pictures tomorow as today it was impossible to focus on that.. Any tips would be greatly appreciated and who knows maybe i will do a guide on this after with a youtube video, as i have looked everywhere and found nothing.. This is the OEM reference of the pipe 038121065AB. This quickly became a very hard task but when their is a will to make things happen, things happen. So i am ready to fnish the mission at hand.. 🤘 Best regards and thank you for any tips!!

Help with Fabia MK1 2001- VCDS Errors
@Breezy_PeteHi. Thanks for the reply.. I figured that those HVAC errors where aircon related.. The car does make alot of hot air but cold not really.. Havent recharged the gas also.. Want to fix that by this summer. Those errors seem a bit hard to fix right? G65 sensor and the evaporator is just a matter of putting new sensors right?? The last fault is the one im worried about. Dont even know where to start with that one.. Best regards, thnks!

Help with Fabia MK1 2001- VCDS Errors
@sepulchraveHi! Thanks for the quick answer. Yes that was the first item for he buying list I'm making. As I've read online the recommendation is to buy the BOSCH version right? As all other brands are not the best and could quickly stop working again. Thanks again for the reply! I think the one installed is the original OEM unit from Bosch. At least on my hands i never swapped the maf sensor and i have been getting some crazy boost delay problems. But i also reckon I have some vacuum leaks at the tandem pump master plug which i am sure might also be helping with the boost issues.

Help with Fabia MK1 2001- VCDS Errors
Hi to everyone. Lucas Here. Proudful owner of a Skoda Fabia MK1 with 23 Years and counting! Finally got my hands on a Vag-Com to test the car and uncover all its faults. Still relatively new to VCDS, but I work with coding and programming so I'm starting to understand how it all works, however much to learn for sure. I'm wondering if anyone could help me out to figure these errors and how I can fix them. I'm dropping below a copy of my last auto-scan. First of all I would like to fix the problems causing the errors and later on id like to understand all the features that could be turned on with adaptations and coding etc.. Any help would be much appreciated! Best regards to everyone! Greetings from Portugal!
