Kamiq knocking noise after disc/pad change
The performance of the Pagid's is decent. I have no noise when reversing, or going into gear, or go from stationary to moving(so I cant see it being the brake rattle?). It really is just a very annoying knocking noise when on rough surfaces. When the suspension is fully engaged like bigger potholes I can't hear it. I'm just scratching my head how it went in with no noises and has come out with definite noise, and they can't 'hear' anything.

Kamiq knocking noise after disc/pad change
Recently got the front disc and pads changed on my Kamiq by my local indy. Driving it home I noticed when the road surface changed rough there was a knocking noise on the front drivers side. Not necessarily a pothole that triggers it, but very uneven road surface does. Took it back to my mechanics, who checked the brakes, then test drove it on some rough roads, but they said they couldn't hear anything. I didn't know if it was just me hearing things, so decided not to tell my girlfriend and she noticed the same thing. It's now got pagid brakes put on, but I'm wondering if aftermarket pads have a habit of knocking, or am I looking at potential drop bar links?

Good indy price for front disc and pads?
I can see a set online for about £120, then I imagine it's a 90 minute job and my garage charge £60ph, so let's say £90 with £18 VAT and it's about £228, so it feels a little steep. Even if they quote 2 hours labour, it would be about £264. I'll ask for a break down of the price as I didn't get it this time round.

Good indy price for front disc and pads?
Just wondering if £290 is a good price from an indy garage to replace the front disc and pads? I know the front is a touch more expensive than the rear, but I paid about £130 for the read disc and pads so seemed a bit of a jump.

Are the Kamiq headlight units accessible?
Still waiting for a diagnostic on the headlight range adjuster not working, but I wondered if anyone knew if once the headlight units are out they can be disassembled? I have the workshop manual, but when looking at pictures the units look completely sealed. The wait in getting it seen has me worrying if it's the motors they'll want to replace the whole units. It is covered under the used approved warranty, but unsure how straight forward it will be.

Open and Close "This function is unavailable"
Actually seems I need to refer to the 'coming home' setting in the lights, which is activated fro 10 seconds but not coming on when I lock the car. (lights are set to auto currently)

Open and Close "This function is unavailable"
I do occasionally use the 'other' keybob, but mainly stick with using the same one. Sorry, I should've been clearer but when I find 'opening and closing' in the infotainment it says 'this function is currently unavailable'. I'm not sure if this is to do with being SE, but I can see the tab.

Open and Close "This function is unavailable"
Has anyone had a similar issue with their Kamiq? Normally, I'd have to double press to unlock and lock the car, and the headlights would stay on for a few seconds, however a single press will now lock and unlock, but now when I lock the car only the indicator lights flash. I live in a rural area and rely on the lights staying illuminated to navigate round the car. I've never used the 'open and close' setting but now it says the function is not available. I know the mechanics had some diagnostic tool when trying to resolve another issue with the car so i'm unsure if this has triggered it.

Skoda Warranty - Diagnostic costs?
Interesting - it was unladen and in an unloaded position but the failure code I got was '4.1.5. (a) Headlamp levelling device inoperative', so presumably if there is an operating device it has to work?
-
Skoda Warranty - Diagnostic costs?
According to the MOT guidance, if the levelling dial is inoperative then it's fail. But the beam height/alignment is fine.

Skoda Warranty - Diagnostic costs?
Couldn't get through, but got it booked in at an auto-electrians in the borders. My main worry is by the time it was booked in with Skoda the MOT would've expired and if the fault is because of water ingress, wiring, wiring looms, connections or fuses, then I may be over a barrel paying dealer prices.

Skoda Warranty - Diagnostic costs?
I'm based in Scotland, not too far from Edinburgh. The last valid MOT was done by the main dealer I bought it from in Peterborough. It hadn't come up on that MOT, but because I was never towing or loading the car I always left it alone, so naively I don't know if it ever worked. I'm not saying it's caused by water ingress, I just don't want the car getting stuck with a main dealer that might want stupid prices for repairs.

Skoda Warranty - Diagnostic costs?
Under items not covered... "Airbags, batteries, bulbs, exhaust systems, water ingress (including damage to covered parts caused by water), wiper blades, wheel balancing and alignment; wiring, wiring looms, connections and fuses, wheels and tyres." Would this mean if a broken component relating to the headlight leveller was caused by water ingress then it wouldn't be covered by the warranty?

Skoda Warranty - Diagnostic costs?
Thanks for the info - It's the approved used warranty. I will read through it now. Is there a way of finding out approved warranty repairers as that might widen my scope for who might be able to look at the car. Thanks

Skoda Warranty - Diagnostic costs?
I posted a few days ago about my headlight levelling not working. I wondered if anyone had any experience on whether the diagnostic fee is covered by the warranty when a part is considered faulty? I had it at an auto electronics today but waiting indefinitely for it to get looked at. In the end I decided if it ends up needing parts, I'm going to be spending money on something Skoda should hopefully cover.

Headlamp adjuster not working MOT fail, Christmas nightmare.
Hi Pete, Neither of headlights adjust using the dial in the dashboard. I can't hear any noise of a motor. The specific fail number is 4.1.5. (a) Headlamp levelling device inoperative I will Pm the reg over and the vin tomorrow morning. Thanks for any assistance.

Headlamp adjuster not working MOT fail, Christmas nightmare.
I certainly wouldn't be driving the car once the MOT has expired, and would request Skoda to take it off my hands before it expires. My Christmas plans are cancelled, and I've got the car booked in with an indy auto-electronics garage on Monday, as well as diagnostic requests from two other Skoda garages that are further afield but sooner than the 8th. I was more interested in hearing whether others had experienced similar issues and might know where to start. I will be asking the mechanic on Monday if they think it's an MOT fail, but I can see in the MOT regulations that it's a 'major'.

Headlamp adjuster not working MOT fail, Christmas nightmare.
Yeah, a lot of grey areas. If I can't sort it in the meantime, my local skoda will see it on the 8th with a courtesy car booked. I've got it booked in with an auto-electrician on Monday, but if it's going to require parts or get expensive, Skoda would make more sense, but I don't think the diagnostic fee is included in the warranty cover and they'll want to do their own. There is light going to the switch unit, the wiring looms superficially look fine. I presume the levelling motor is in the headlight unit but I cannot hear any noise at the point of the headlight unit.

Headlamp adjuster not working MOT fail, Christmas nightmare.
Understood, thanks. Main issue is I'll be out of the retest date by the time my local Skoda can see it. Considering booking further afield and getting a courtesy car if possible in the meantime.

Headlamp adjuster not working MOT fail, Christmas nightmare.
I wish I had a mechanic which would do this, and I know it will eventually get sorted at Skoda. I see some saying they just deleted the switch with black plastic which got it through. Unsure if my mechanic would do that.

Headlamp adjuster not working MOT fail, Christmas nightmare.
I've never used it and have owned it for a year, so no idea if it was always like this. It's mainly just me driving in it with no towing, and never thought/needed to change it. Locally I'm fine and I've got a Skoda booking if I need to produce anything. The longer journey I'm weary of in the case of an accident and insurance grey areas etc.

Headlamp adjuster not working MOT fail, Christmas nightmare.
It's a major fault, and it expires on the 2nd. Seems to be a grey area. I'm fine driving around in the daytime, but more concerned about a 6 hour drive and where I'd stand.

Headlamp adjuster not working MOT fail, Christmas nightmare.
It says 'headlight operative device inoperative'. After some research my take is that if there is control for it, it should work. Took it to another garage that said the same thing.

Headlamp adjuster not working MOT fail, Christmas nightmare.
Hi Guys, Had my 2020 Kamiq SE booked in for an MOT today. No known issues with the car and things like brakes and tyres recently replaced with a full service in late summer had me thinking it would be plain sailing. The MOT testers failed the car because the headlight adjuster dial wasn't working (which I've not needed). They used some sort of diagnostic on it and couldn't find any areas, so they couldn't rectify or resolve it. I'm booked in at my local Skoda dealer on the 8th of Jan (earliest) and the car is under warranty, but it's completely scuppered my plans for Christmas as I had a long drive lined up on Tuesday. Another garage took a look, and said they couldn't find any reason it wasn't working with voltage tests, but without wiring diagrams and time they couldn't do much more. Last hope is it's booked in at an auto-eletrician on Monday who are rammed but kindly fitted me in. Any ideas what issue I could be looking at here with nothing obvious jumping out?

Help identifying lower bumper grill part
Hi, Annoyingly, someone has damaged and cracked the lower bumper mesh on my 2020 Skoda Kamiq and another plastic component behind it. As far as I can see, aside from the meshing the bumper doesn't appear damaged, but there is something cracked behind it as well. Can anyone help me with where to source the meshing/lower grill and what the broken housing through behind the lower grill is?
