  1. Hello first sorry for my english, i am having hard time finding some of the appropriate words to use here. Thanks for patience. I have a problem with setting air temperature on my Octavia II 2009. I have Climatic heater unit and the temperature is not changing continuously as i rotate the temp knob on the left. According to how it behaves i believe that the air conditioning system is OK - i mean the compressor and amount of medium inside the system are OK. Problem might be the ambient temp sensor or the onboard unit or something else. If i set lowest or highest temp then they are set (lowest/highest settings are not regulated as far as i know but its full ON cooling or heating) and air temp is according to lowest/highest as set. But between them as i turn the knob the temp is not regulated continuously. sometimes temp is the same after turning a lot on the knob then suddenly starts changing. So the regulation is not completely OFF between lowest/highest but its regulating to some poor degree (if it was completely OFF then i could assume ambient air temp sensor is bad). What could be wrong? still have to check ambient air sensor? what about the climatic unit? are there some contacts on PCB that need to be cleaned? Second question is: does anybody have manual or could anybody explain how do i reassemble the heat knob to its correct position? Problem is that i wanted to take apart the climatic unit (to see if there are any contacts to clean around the potentionmeter) and pulled off the knob in the center (see photo). I thought that the potentionmeter has a stop mechanism at lowest/highest turn because if the knob is attached then it has. but i have realized that without the knob it can be turned around infinitely (just turning the potentionmeter only to the right the temp is changing between cool/warm). So now i have lost the position where the potentionmeter should be when i attach the knob. The knob has a thin cut and the potentionmeter a small "jump" so i assume one fit inside the other but i dont know where should the potentionmeter be set when i attach the knob. Because if i just attach the knob blindly then the knob might be pointing to low temp when warm air is coming and that not good. I can only experiment by feeling the air temperature coming from the vents and attach the knob accordingly but since its not regulating correctly its very hard to experiment. A definitive quide would be straightforward. Thank you for your help
  2. I know its 5 years old post and since then probably irrelevant but might still help somebody in the future... My Octavia II had a strange sound like this when turning off ignition: Like when you turn off an industrial vacuum cleaner and its releasing big amount of air I have found that its a black box located in the motor compartment just below the windshield (its clearly visible on an Octavia II). Its a solenoid valve block. Product code for Octavia II is: 6Q0 906 625 E. After replacing this part the sound gone. However after driving 70k kilometers (total mileage of car 140k at the time) the strange sound came back on the new solenoid valve block. After that i did not solve it anymore since it costs 200euro. Now mileage is 230k and its still making sound but car is working good.
