  1. I'll keep an eye on the coolant, I've marked the tank so will be able to tell if it has dropped.
  2. Thanks Alasdair, you may well be correct. I'll try that.
  3. My 2013 Octavia 1.6 diesel intermittently emits steam from under the bonnet. Sometimes great clouds, other times barely noticeable. I first noticed it about 2 weeks ago, there is no signs of the engine overheating and I haven't lost any coolant. It smells like overheating coolant but as I say, there is no loss from the header tank. I'm wondering if it could be some leak from the windscreen washer reservoir but cant see how that would get near the exhaust or other hot engine components. Has anyone else come across this?
  4. I recently had to repair my rear windscreen washer pipe, when I also found a broken cable to the rear high level brake light. Both now fixed, but I have the bulb failure warning light on my dashboard permanently lit now, despite all the bulbs being operational. Any suggestions as to the reason for this? Thanks in advance.
  5. Hi there, just signed up for the forum. Not long bought a 2013 Octavia. Generally very happy with it. Have been a Skoda owner in the past, had a N registered Skoda Coupe in Orange, early 80's maybe? Can't remember, had a sleep since then ! I watched with horror as it rusted away before my eyes, however, I remember it fondly, it was fun to drive and it was the car that started my enthusiasm for engines. I knew nothing about cars or engines then. One day the headgasket went. My wife bless her, bought me a manual and a socket set and the rest is history.
