  1. Ran diags on Wayne's car today. Showing too much pressure in Aircon system. Compressor shuts down when pressure gets to 31bar. Starts at 25ish then goes up to 31 then compressor shuts off, then restarts when pressure drops to about 25. Checked on a VW Touran of the same year and was running between 12 and 14bar pressure, so either there is too much pressure to start with, or the sensor is faulty....

  3. Had the same issue in my hatchback fabia. My body shop found two leaks in the actual tailgate, plus water was getting in thriugh the adjustable rubber feet, so had to silicon seal the adjuster in. Had already tried the seal, but it was not the cause of my leaks. Had to remove the inner trim and water the car with a hose pipe while the someone sat inside to find the leaks. Water was getting into the actual tailgate trim. I have also come up with a cunning plan for stopping the water getting to the door carrier seals......I have put a bead of hot glue along the last bend above the seal on the inside of the door carrier, so water hits the bead and drops to the bottom of the door, rather than tracking along the surface of the carrier and round the bend to the seal. I have also sealed the carriers with Plumbers Gold, to make 100% sure. So far so good!
  4. Very weird fault! Open the tailgate after heavy rain and the water runs back out the plastic onto the back seat. Appears to be left side only. Not screen wash, as clear. Any ideas? Thanks Rob
  5. I run 195/45/16's on the front and 205/45/16's on the rear with no issues....
  6. May be interested, as my PD150 engine has a worn cam, so need a good one for that....
  7. I have always had part worn tyres. Get through pairs on the front in 3 months.... Never had an issue due to tyre being part worn. A nail will go in a new tyre just as easy as a part worn tyre. I have had a few with 6 to 7mm tread on them. I will be giving them more abuse than any of their previous owners

  9. I had a passt B5 with the same issue. I fitted a long cable tie, so it was hanging through the drain hole under the battery, and just gave it a jiggle every few weeks to make sure the drain hole remained clear.

  11. You need someone with VAGTacho to get you your SKC code. Then use VAGCOM (VCDS) to code your key(s). Look here for the nearest people with the required kit :- http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/74720-list-of-vag-com-diagnostic-system-vcds-owners/ If it is still not starting then diags need to be run in VAGCOM to try to identify the problem.

  14. I use Vag-tacho to read the SKC code. Then use VAGCOM to code the keys....

  17. Found the thread now. It is M9 x 1.25 Will be fitting a helicoil, as these are stronger than the original thread. Some car manufacturers are now putting helicoils in some threads as standard.....
  18. My front left tyre always wears quicker than my front right. When the left is worn more than the right I get a pull to the left.... After change of tyres it is always reduced. My tracking showed perfect but car was still pulling left due to tyre wear... May be worth swapping tyres/wheels between front left and front right (May need tyres turning around if they are directional). May also be worn console bushes??
  19. Look in the VAGCOM section to find your nearest member that has one and get the error codes read. This will give you a better indication as to where the problem lies. I have one, but am not in Scotland! :-)
  20. One of mine has stripped in the hub assembly. I think they are M9?? Are they M9 x 1.25 thread, as if so, I can get a helicoil kit and repair it???? Many thanks Rob
  21. 200K on original exhaust.....outer skin is coming loose on the back box, but not blowing yet.... :-)
  22. Fit Koni FSD dampers and Eibach springs.... plus a nice Jabb rear ARB. Will lower it about 30mm and will handle 100% better!
