  1. Thank you very much for all info guys. Will contact Angel tuning as would rather have my car optimized than just getting the same ECU file flashed into the car that everyone else gets.
  2. Thanks for clarifying that for me. So the garage I was away to do it at would pretty much be a general software flashed into the cars ECU as opposed to a one fully customized to my car yes? Sorry this will be my first time remapping a car. Angel tuning is based in Kilmarnock from what I've seen. I'm away to Wales in early March, perhaps I could have a detour and stop at their garage? Do they do it on the spot?
  3. It is indeed a 7 speed DSG
  4. One last question and I won't pester yous anymore. Was also looking into the DTUK chipboxes. Any advantages/disadvantages of one over a remap? The chip box is more expensive that's for sure as the garage quoted me £230 for the remap.
  5. Biggest reason I want more power is as you said for overtaking and also to get a bit more mpg. Just wanted to confirm what my mechanic said was right. Also how do I check my dsg model please? Thanks
  6. Not necessarily how I wanted the post to end up. Was really wanting some advise on remapping the car and should I be mapping the gearbox along with the engine remap.
  7. That's why no names were mentioned 😅 just stating the fact that it is a fully fledged garage and not some random boy in a van.
  8. The guy was reffered by a friend of mine. He's got a garage in town. Was on the phone to him yesterday for about 20 mins questioning everything. He also said he does Ad blue removals. When I asked about DPF removal he told me at only 59k miles there is no point doing it yet, but mentioned once I get passed 100k it might be worth removing the DPF and EGR (as the egr tends to melt) that's at lest what he told me. How do I check my DSG model? Will I need an obd reader for that? As I'm thinking about buying the obd11 to coding in a couple of bits and bobs to my car.
  9. Yeah to be honest the comment had me questioning the reliability of that garage. Was in fact away to ask another question on here for any good garages to do remaps around Aberdeenshire areas. Will look into the one you mentioned. Thanks
  10. To be fair buddy, I don't know if it's the DQ250. It's the 7 gear DSG. How or where do I check the gearbox model? I'm pretty sure the gearbox never got serviced and also thought that was the reason of it failing. But I still went with the purchase since they put brand new mechatronic with it and also serviced it. Cost the dealer £1899 to fix. What pedal box would you recommend? Was looking at the DTUK ones recently. So you're saying that a remap + a pedal box would be more than enough?
  11. Hello guys, Tried searching the forum but couldn't find anything so I do apologize if it was already mentioned. I have the 2018 Superb L&K - 2.0 CR 150 I want to remap it to gain some torque and bhp. When I bought the car from the dealership 2 months ago, when the driver was on the way to my house the DSG broke down. They took it to a Skoda dealership and turned out it was the mechatronic needing changed. Skoda did buy the new mechatronic and fitted it along with new DSG filters and oil. Car has only 59k miles on the clock. My questions is should I also be mapping the DSG alongside the Engine remap? The guy who would be doing the map for me advised against the DSG map since I told him i mainly do city driving with a 1x a week longer trip. He said an engine map will be enough. When I asked him about torque limits on the DSG he told me there is nothing to worry about since these boxes were "made to withstand 1000Nm of torque" his words exactly. What do you guys suggest? Thanks
