  1. Hi all, Am I right in thinking that the 'Symphony' stereo is 'paired' to my car, and if I remove it I wont have to enter any codes or such like when I put it back in? TIA
  2. Same here!.. I also ask the wife if it smells like damp ( I smoke, so can't tell the difference)... but I regularly have a god look around for signs of water ingress. At the end of the day,... I spent good money on that car, and anything that will keep her on the road, is good money spent!..
  3. So what happens to them?.... do they just snap off or something inside the door?
  4. Well, I haven't actually started it yet. You never know, I might enjoy it too much to give it up, but it's good to keep an open mind.
  5. Well, after 22 fantastic years serving queen and country (Army), my career has come to an end. Got myself a new job starting Monday with HM Recovery and quite looking forward to it. My job for the last 22 years has been heavy vehicle/armoured vehicle recovery..... Also have: City & Guilds engines and chassis components City and guilds light and heavy vehicle recovery City and guilds mobile air conditioning/refrigeration F-gas certified Construction skills Air conditioning/refrigeration So, if you would like to employ me.... send me a PM.
  6. Thanks guys.. I'm going to nick the ones off my Octy before I sell her/trade her in (as they are the same)...
  7. Sorry, I read your post wrong and sent wrong reply....
  8. Which model is it?... (Ambiente, Elegance...)
  9. Replaced spare wheel (Some idiot screwed the exhaust heat shield on from underneath with XL screws which punctured the spare). Secured rear exhaust heat shield (Properly). Filled her up with diesel (£56) :'(
  10. Thanks again Lee. My leak seems to be coming down the actual rear panel from somewhere, to the right of the boot opening. It leaks down from above where the rear light is situated (arrowed in pic), so I don't think taking the cover off the boot lid is going to reveal anything in my case. I was wondering if it is may be leaking in through the roof rail strips somehow, then flowing down into the back? I don't know if this is possible, but just a thought. It can't be a leaking in through the fuel cap access as this is below where the drips are coming from as well. The only other places I can think of are the boot hinge mounting (seems unlikely), or the gas strut mounting which also seems unlikely? Oh well, hopefully someone will have seen this before and shed some light on it for me....
  11. Thanks Lee, but doesn't the washer pipe use the left side of the car?.. the rear washer works fine too?
  12. And I forgot to use my Briskoda discount code...... would have made it cheaper still!!
  13. Nope. It's coming down from above where the lights are, at the point arrowed.
  14. I had a coolant leak from the radiator on my Octavia a few weeks back. I had to replace the radiator as it was corroded in both bottom corners. Try http://www.eurocarparts.com/ I paid £26 + VAT for the new radiator!!!!.... Bargain I know!! As far as fitting it goes, .. if you have a socket set and some torx bits, it's not too hard at all (I'm guessing that it won't be much different to the Octavia). I too did panic a bit before I got the price, and had a go at fitting it. If I were you, I'd fix it myself.
  15. I have fixed the water leaks on all the door carriers, and all is good so far. The trouble is..... I have found that I have water getting into the right hand side of the boot (behind the carpet that covers the R/H rear light). It seems to be dripping from the channel of bodywork that goes up around the rear door/roof area. I have put an arrow on the photo where I can see drips of water. Can anyone please give me an idea of where it is getting in, and the remedy?? Many Thanks. Wet patch.. Right hand rear bodywork where water seems to be dripping in..
  16. Thanks Ap0gee, Just fixed mine. It had come off at the bulkhead (behind the air filter). A great post on a brilliant site!! Thanks again!!
  17. Cheers Avalon, I guess I'll leave them as is then...
  18. Luckily for me (or not?).. I was checking all the tyre pressures when I noticed. Oh well, a new tyre and some remedial action on the spare wheel compartment I suppose!
  19. Just found out that some 'PLANK' that had the fabia before me has screwed the rear exhaust heat shield on from underneath with 2 'extra long' screws, that have subsequently punctured the spare tyre!!! .... Arrrrgghhh!!
  20. Just want to know.... Is it safe to use LED's as replacement bulbs on my 05 Fabia 1.4 Tdi without any other modifications? I've heard that they can cause some electrickery problems, is this correct? Thanks in advance.
