  1. As petrol/manual cars decline in popularity, I want to give myself the best chance of keeping my VRS for as long as possible. Hence I wish to fit an OBDII Adaptor so that I can monitor its status as it ages. For the life of me I cannot find the port and would like advice as to who to go to get this done for me, once I buy the adaptor itself. In truth I am getting a bit old for crawling under dashboards and am not sure if this is something my local garage would be willing to do. I have not approached them yet. Any advice from VRS owners would be welome.
  2. Thanks spcdust. I'll renew the Remote Access and leave the Infotainment Online to expire and see what happens...
  3. I use Google Maps via Android Auto for sat nav. Does anyone know whether this will continue to work without a subscription to Infotainment Online?
  4. Hi Stonekeeper, Looks like I did. A "registration fee" of £55 was included on my original purchase invoice but I was unclear as to was it was for... John
  5. Skoda are asking me for £36 for a year's subscription to Remote Access and £44 for Infotainment Online. Any views as to whether this is worthwhile? Having bought the car new a year ago, I was not expecting such a bill and I am not clear about what will stop working if I don't take up their offer, nor whether I can subscribe after the renewal date if something important to me stops working.
  6. I now have a reply from my dealer. They won't consider making the change to Lane Assist and are quite clear that such a change might possibly invalidate the manufacturer's warranty. I shall live with resetting it every trip, which is not the end of the world, but it is a nuisance...
  7. Dear UltraRunner, many thanks for your reply. I will take this up with my local dealer and let you know how I get on.
  8. My Octavia VRS has default settings which reset every trip. Some I consider to be unsafe on my local country lanes, e.g. Lane Assist and Stop/Start. I want a way to stop them resetting after I have switched them off through the infotainment system. My Skoda dealer is reluctant ro consider doing it for vague and unspecified "safety/insurance" reasons. Has anyone managed to get this done while preserving their manufacturer's warranty?
