Getting 42 mpg with my 2.0d scout thats with the wife taking it to her work each day about 20 miles per day on slow country roads. Went to blackpool last month with my caravan ,I reckon the caravan weighs about 1350kgs total ,did just under 800 miles with the van on and worked it out at 25.2 mpg which I thought was quite poor but most of the way was done at about 60 mph ,anyway its still only got 7000 miles on the clock so it should get better, hopefully.

No I didnt use a skoda wiring kit I just used a bypass relay the same type as I fitted to my last octavia and it lasted 3years no problem I also fitted a heavy duty relay to charge the caravan battery and power the fridge when on the move.I would have liked to used the genuine wiring but I thought it was a lot more work to fit it and it was a lot more expensive. I dont know what advantages of trailer stability activated would be I would like to know this too, anyway it still tows my caravan very well.

Hi there I have just fitted a fixed towbar to my scout its the skoda one supplied from the dealer and the fitting instructions that came with it show either a fixed swan neck or a detachable one.The main part of the bar that goes behind the bumper is the same for both so it would be really easy to change the swan neck part later on (just two easy accessible m12 bolts) if the part becomes avalable. There is a close up picture of the fixed one on the skoda web site I think it looks ok on my car it sticks out a bit but its not a clumbsy lump you see on some cars.

I have a corrida red scout, had it two weeks now and I was a bit worried about getting it in that colour but now ive got it I think it looks very nice(when its clean), it definitely stands out, havent took any pics of it yet but heres one the same Fotogallery Skoda Octavia Scout

Hello everyone been lurking around this great site for a very long time and picked up a lot of very usefull info. Today I exchanged my octy2 140 ambient which has been a great car for 3 years for a new red octy scout hopefully it will be as good, my first impressions are very impressed. Hope to get some pics of it and post them soon ,all the best royskie
