Annoying Android Auto behaviour via dongle
I have to check but being patched i CANNOT change it anyways, as this will render it unusable.

Annoying Android Auto behaviour via dongle
Hi fam, i got a gen 3 Octavia, pre-FL, with a Mib2 unit that has been patched and without component protection. No issues of sort. Android auto works with this particular dongle (changed it recently as this one is much smaller and takes no room at all) but often i have to either remove the dongle itself for a few seconds and reinsert or restart the head unit altogether. Generally this happens after the car has been shut off for some time. It's very annoying and i am not sure whether it's the dongle itself or what. Thoughts?

Front wheel bearing genuine or OEM?
That's what i was looking at, just REALLY wanted to ensure the sizing was right. Skodaparts was a bit confusing but i guess i am happy with the explanation now. Thank you.

Front wheel bearing genuine or OEM?
Thing is that i am in Australia. I don't want to get a part, go about doing the bearing only to find out it's wrong.

Front wheel bearing genuine or OEM?
I am sure it's 3 bolts but still not quite sure if it's the 85mm version. Very confusing even on Skodaparts.

Epic UP but the 85mm is the correct part for FWD, right?

Front wheel bearing replacement
Hello all, i recently managed to hit the edge of a curb at speed like an idiot. Got the tire replaced and dremeled the damage on the rim so that's all sorted. Tire was only about 3 months old so i am not that concerned with the difference in size. I do, however, hear some light noise, like a sine wave thing, from around 80 kph, especially where the road is smooth. Obviously i lifted the wheel that i hit but i cannot feel any movement when rocking it side to side. I guess bearing has some damage but not enough to be visible? I am trying to source the bearing myself and i think i found the SKF VKBA 7011 to be the right fit. Can anyone confirm this is right for a FWD Octavia 3 RS? Planning to do it myself after, i shouldn't have big issues i hope. Thank you.

Oil pan is leaking the tiniest bit.
Like i said, i got the 2.0 TSI which has only half undertray and composite pan. There is definitely oil around the border of lower and upper pan. The plug is plastic, as you know.

Thank you, it is something i want to do at my next oil change. So far rest is good but i am ready for other things to be replaced anyway. Currently on 100k km so let's see.

Oil pan is leaking the tiniest bit.
I have been pretty lucky so far. This is a second hand car and it has been looked after well. Minor things i fixed were the drains in the doors as they were clogged up, entertainment unit wheel sticky and that's it. Water pump is not an issue and so is the rest of the drivetrain. Honestly, pan seems fine so i was trying to see if i could get away with just a new gasket. I wonder if updated gaskets are better since there are newer part numbers i can see online.

Just to add, it's a VRS so EA888 Gen 3 engine.

Oil pan is leaking the tiniest bit.
Hello everyone, i have noticed that my oil pan is leaking the tiniest bit. It's about 1 drop a day or so. I am quite confident it's the oil pan gasket and it seems like the composite pan tends to warp overtime. I know i could get an OEM pan, gasket and whatnot but i am not in a hurry since i literally JUST done an oil change. Also, despite seeing steel or aluminium 3rd party options i don't want to **** around with RTV and have it end up in the pan. Anyone experienced this? Common issue? Changing gasket good enough or nah?

Consistent creaking or alike in Octavia VRS wagon.
Hey, it was hard enough to fix it, taking pictures would have been very tricky. I barely got the car high enough to fit under, a bit sketchy. Are you experiencing something similar? Can you reproduce it by moving the ehxaust side to side by hand?

So yeah, managed to fix it. It was the mid exhaust hanger mount. The mount itself was possibly screwed with some tension and everytime the exhaust was moving a bit it was initiating this rattle, constantly, which was driving me nuts. So under the car i go and since it's low you will understand it's a pain. Moved the exhaust vigorously by hand and confirmed that was the issue. So i backed off the 13mm bolt holding the bracket and let it relax then tightened it again and NO MORE RATTLE.

Ok, so i got under the car without lifting it and i am pretty sure it's the exhaust, specifically should be the mount in the middle, VRS model. If i shake the exhaust where the cat is i can hear the same rattle up/down and left/right. Can't really see why that is, not comfortable being under such a low car with just a couple of jack stand but maybe i'll try this weekend. Anyone had the same?
