  1. I'm all out of boot space when we go on holiday with the kids, need roof bars and a box to get the push chair up top. What are the best fitting bars for the factory fit points? I see Thule do a set, I think it's 753 feet, 760 bars but I have no clue what this 3003 fitting kit is all about. I think the factory fit bars should have a 'C' type jaw which opens and closes into the mounting point on the roof but possibly one of you could advise me before I buy some cheap piece of crap which doesn't fit! Also, what size box will sit right on the Mk1, up to about 500 litre capacity, does that sound about right?
  2. I'm getting my Lupo TDi done on a 2 for 1 deal and I can't drive two cars at once! They have agreed to do a bench map in the VRs so I don't have to make a repeat 6 hour round trip.
  3. Anyone done it before? I need to pull the ecu from my wife's Octavia for a remap, any tips or tricky areas before I start? I'm guessing it's wipers off, scuttle pannel out and then some sort of clips holding the unit in?
  4. Would changing the pannel filter to K&N improve anything or is that another waist of cash? After a long search on here it looks like Jabba custom map is the way to go. Is there any benefit in changing the dump valve to a forged item or is the standard OEM good enough after a re-map? I'd like to keep things looking standard if possible. I was interested in the adjustable boost controller, seamed like a good idea to be able to run low boost for a slow motorway cruise and dial up boost when you want a thrash. Any idea on price if anyone has gone down this route?
  5. I've got an 05 Octavia VRs which I want to tweak a bit, looking at a re-map with possibly an exhaust. Need to keep things simple as it's the wife's daily driver. I've heard some good and bad stories about Revo, what's your thoughts on the best map. I've used Stealth in the past but been recommended to use Jabba Sport and there is also Custom Code to consider. I'm in the south J4 M40, who would you use and what sort of power and reliability issues have you guys had? Is it worth doing a CAT back exhaust or is there nothing to gain without doing the down pipe and hi-flow CAT? Cheers Gareth P.S. It's my red Vento 3.2 ITB on the cover of next months PVW
