  1. Long story short - I want to swap TDI gearbox to my 1.8t ARX 4x4 Octy currently running on stock FEX 5 speed gearbox. Question is, will it fit and what else do I need. I've read all I could find, searched it all, gained as much info as I could on it, because I want it to be a smooth plug and play job without too much burden. I don't care if currently I may have not enough horsepower for those gear ratios - getting more HP is not a problem with this engine at all, the stock 5 speed manual gear ratios are a problem. Recently I've killed my stock clutch having fun after my last remap. Pulls like a crazy horse but the clutch quickly gave up and started slipping. I'm gonna be changing the front cradle or frame or whatever you call it anyway, because of rust, so it's about the time. Getting rid of dual mass flywheel, fitting some kevlar or ceramic lined clutch disk... I've thought, why shouldn't I go further than that and do something about the unacceptable RPM above 100km/h. Most popular gearbox swap is for DQB 6 speed Audi TT gearbox, but it comes together with different shaft lengths and some other changes needed. I wanted to avoid it so I've started looking for some "plug and play" alternatives. From what I've read, my best fit is 5 speed EWK from 1.9tdi AGR 4x4. ETKA and all the databases I was able to find tell me that the shafts are the same as the ones I currently have, same length, same part number. Clutch and flywheel seems to be also the same diameter, so maybe it would be wise to get kevlar on some TDI clutch as well and fit it, as the TDI clutch is rated for some more torque than stock petrol one. Wise Briskodians, please, tell me where I am wrong, where I am right, will it fit and what should I be cautious about.
