@HeavyMetalRich the codes that are coming up now are cylinder 1 and 2 random misfire

UPDATE.. had compression test done and everything thing is fine there. Had the timing chain replaced but still the noise and engine spluttering is still there. My mechanic has suggested that it could be the injectors that are at fault.. would this be the case?

Hi Alasdair1 the car is an automatic I have my foot on the break and then engage drive and the car shakes and then cuts off

Thanks Boycie and Alasdair1 when I last checked it was throwing up a P0012(15) fault code which is camshaft position when googling it it comes back as a possibility of timing chain being faulty . If it is a faulty timing chain would that also cause the engine to cut off soon as I put the car into gear?

When you put the car into gear the car shakes and then when trying to set off the car stalls. In the video you can hear the car sounding really rough and a ticking/tapping sound is heard. On the look out for a new/used engine was just wanting to know if there was anyone in west Yorkshire with knowledge of fitting a 1.4 twin charged engine that will be able to fit it. Didn't want to get an engine and then no one was able to fit it

Previous errors were bringing up cylinder misfires.. changed the coil packs and the plugs still no change.. engine management light and EPC light is on.. was drinking a lot of oil before this happened.

Hello people just some advice needed.. I've been told by my mechanic that I need a new engine as the bottom end has gone. What would be the best options available? My car is a 2010 CAVE engined Vrs.. Is it worth getting another engine or is there an alternative engine I can buy and replace? I have been told that the 1.8 225 BAM engine can fit into the fabia.. is that possible?

Morning had someone come out and look at the car last night and removed the plug from cylinder 2 which was black and covered in soot. The plug from cylinder 2 was the one the mechanic replaced last time and it's not lasted 2 months. The guy that saw the car last night suggested that it could be the cam/lifters and that a compression test would be the way forward and then to see if the valves have been damaged or cam shafts. Does that seem right?

@Rooted Thanks for the welcome. The car is on 86k and I'm assume it's the original engine as the paper work I have doesn't mention anything of a replacement engine..

Annual service is when they get changed. Am I supposed to change them sooner?

Plugs are due a change as service is due soon.. However I got some spark plugs Reddy for the service and my mechanic said they seem fine bar one which he replaced..

@Breezy_Pete I've just got a reader on it and it's given me these codes.

@Breezy_Pete would a faulty coil pack cause the car to cut off when attempting to set off? Sorry if I sound dumb..

Hi people just had this issue come up. Every time I put the car into drive the car shakes and then when you attempt to set off the engine cuts out. I've uploaded a video could someone please tell me what the issue could be. Engine management light is flashing and EPC light is on. I've also attached a pic of what looks like a hose has snapped off from the air filter could that have anything to do with the car making a racket or is it much more serious.
