  1. Thank you for your reply and your skida contact details. I thought my problem had been solved. That was the first time in months, I think Feb was the last time. Although it went into Skoda in May I think it was to have the fuel pump part changed. But strangely the car was sluggish starting on the morning it happened (a battery issue?), and for a few seconds after starting loads of different error messages flashed up, and disappeared very quickly. I was reluctant to turn the car off while getting a few other things sorted, and then carried on our way. I'm wondering if I had turned the engine off and give the car a chance to reset itself I'd still have the error:drive system message. I've done about 400 miles since with no issues. When fhe car goes in to the dealer again next week, I've asked them to check the battery is charging ok. Glad your car is running OK.
  2. Unfortunately I had the dreaded error:drive system message back again, first time in a long time soon after starting a drive back from Cornwall at the weekend. I had the first 70 miles of every few seconds pinging on and off and trying to go into Limp Mode. Stopped overnight in Wellington, and continued the rest of the 180 miles home without any problems. Booked into dealer... again... for the beginning of Oct. I despair.
  3. Fingers crossed all good for you. Out of interest what year of manufacture is your car? Although mine is a 22, it was built sometime in 21 (although I can't find it now, I seem to remember reading May somewhere), during the 'chip' shortage. It could be a dodgy batch of cars? It's strange the faulty parts causing the same 'Error message' varies from car to car? I hope all goes well for you.
  4. That's a bit different to my faulty fuel pump controller. I still haven't had any error messages so I hope mine is permanently fixed. I do hope you get yours sorted. Good luck
  5. Oh dear, sorry to hear you're still having issues. I had numerous visits to the dealer before they replaced the (faulty?) part and had the software upgrade. Haven't had any problems since having my car back. I do hope it's sorted soon for you.
  6. My car has been ok since Feb when the error message last flagged up. But the dealership said the fuel pump control unit was a known problem. Just hoping the problem is sorted now. I hope you get on OK with your garage and the problem is sorted for you. Good luck.
  7. Have my car back today after being at the main dealer for 4 days. The satnav issue has been corrected with software upgrade. But more importantly they say the 'error:drive system' problem has been sorted. The fuel pump control unit has been replaced due to 'suspected deviation in fuel pump control unit as per TPI'. Apparently a known fault. Faults repaired and software updated FOC under warranty. Hopefully all sorted now.
  8. I haven't had the error:drive system message since Feb. But the car is going back to the dealer towards the end of May for a service and to have the error:drive system message and satnav problem sorted. They're keeping it for a week, I'll update when the car's back. My worry is the fault is so intermittent they still won't find the problem.
  9. I too have randomly had the error:drive system message. I've had the car from new (22 plate 2ltr 150 sel manual estate), and the problem didn't start until after a year of ownership last June. It's been back to the dealer 6 times in the past 10 months, and each time they say they can't find anything wrong and nothing showing in fault log. There's clearly a problem somewhere. The last time it happened I was towing a caravan, and the last 10 miles of the car every few seconds trying to go into 'Limp mode' was a bit unnerving and very frustrating. Pulling out at junctions was a bit hair raising too. Now the satnav resets itself and clears destination/favourites history everytime the car is switched off. The previous octavia I had was a lovely car, this one has had various (mainly infotainment problems) almost from new. I wished I'd never bought it.
