Help with new radio installation (elektricity cable scheme, reversing cable problem)
For anyone finding this topic with the same question: it was NOT the Grey cable with White stripe !!!! It is the white cable with purple stripe that solved the problem, at least for me.

Help with new radio installation (elektricity cable scheme, reversing cable problem)
Thanks @Warrior193 for your reply. I made a picture of the cable that is in my car: And that comes down to this scheme: As in my first message, the factory says: 1. " If the screen flickers or 'No signal' appears on the machine, the machine has this problem because the pink wire on the power cord is not connected properly. First you need to ensure that the car power supply is 12V. Be sure to use the power cord we provide. The pink wire needs to be connected to the reverse detection wire of the original car. If you don't need the reversing image, you need to wrap the pink wire separately." 2. "If the camera is not installed, please do not connect the REVERSE/BACK cable to any place, otherwise the machine will automatically enter the reverse mode, which will cause the machine to fail." Now my problem is: I don't see a pink cable.... So i don't know which cable is giving the signal to the radio that the car is driving/is in reverse. I found the scheme on this forum and I'm doubting of two cables that could be it: THESE ARE THE COLOURS & PINS OF THE OEM SKODA WIRING LOOM TO CONNECT TO THE STEREO HEAD-UNIT - BLACK CONNECTOR (this has the release clip offset on the side) 8d/pin1 = White cable with Purple stripe = vehicle speed sensor (to increase volume with speed) OEM single DIN head-unit may not have a pin for this. (Pin function is correct with ISO) 8d/pin3 = Grey cable with White stripe = VAG diagnostics through EOBD socket (DO NOT USE WITH NON OEM as 12v and can muck up your new head unit, especially if a diagnostic tool is connected!!! So disconnect from plug or cut and seal live end of wire) (This according to ISO is for the reversing light signal) But which one.... Do you have any idea?

Help with new radio installation (elektricity cable scheme, reversing cable problem)
@Breezy_Pete Thank you very much for your thoughts! So you say the gray cable with white stripe. May I submit the following for confirmation. I'm curious how you view that. In the color scheme that I have from this forum and that is above, the cable you mention (gray cable with white stripe) says "This according to ISO is for the reversing light signal". The radio gives the error when I drive backwards, but also when I drive forwards. The factory says in its manual about the radio interference: 1. "If the camera is not installed, please do not connect the REVERSE/BACK cable to any place, otherwise the machine will automatically enter the reverse mode, which will cause the machine to fail." A factory ISO plug is included with the radio. The pink cable is there in 8dpin1 or in my drawn drawing in A. Do you not doubt that it might be the white cable with a purple stripe? The color scheme also shows "vehicle speed sensor" (to increase volume with speed) with a purple stripe on the white cable. That also seems to have something to do with driving. Could i be this one or are you convinced its the gray and white one? Just curios and double checking, before i cut the wrong one....

Help with new radio installation (elektricity cable scheme, reversing cable problem)
@Breezy_Pete First of all: thank you so much! I really don't know anything about this and your help is so welcome. Thanks! I found that colour scheme on this forum. Do you think it's possible my car is wired differently? I can match the colours named in the scheme with my car but i cant really match them with the numbers and my ISO plug. It looks like they are in a different order.. I will send you a picture of my ISO plug and a scheme i drew for you. Can you make something of it?

Help with new radio installation (elektricity cable scheme, reversing cable problem)
@Breezy_Petecan you help me one more time? I was ready to cut it but i see my original car colours are different then the manual of the radio. my car has these colours: ”THESE ARE THE COLOURS & PINS OF THE OEM SKODA WIRING LOOM TO CONNECT TO THE STEREO HEAD-UNIT BLACK CONNECTOR (this has the release clip offset on the side) 8d/pin1 = White cable with Purple stripe = vehicle speed sensor (to increase volume with speed) OEM single DIN head-unit may not have a pin for this. (Pin function is correct with ISO) 8d/pin2 = vacant (This according to ISO is for the mute function of a connected telephone) 8d/pin3 = Grey cable with White stripe = VAG diagnostics through EOBD socket (DO NOT USE WITH NON OEM as 12v and can muck up your new head unit, especially if a diagnostic tool is connected!!! So disconnect from plug or cut and seal live end of wire) (This according to ISO is for the reversing light signal) 8d/pin4 = Brown cable with Red stripe = 12v switched supply with ignition (This according to ISO is for a 12v constant supply) 8d/pin5 = Black cable with Blue stripe = 12v constant supply to battery via Fuse No. 45 (20A) OEM single DIN head-unit does not have a pin for this, as this is to provide additional power for double DIN satnav unit. (This has on other VAG cars been a Brown cable with Red stripe = 12v switched supply with ignition) (This according to ISO is for the electric retractable aerial) 8d/pin6 = Grey cable with Blue stripe = dashboard illumination (Pin function is correct with ISO) 8d/pin7 = Black cable with Blue stripe = 12v constant supply to battery via Fuse No. 45 (20A). (This has on other VAG cars been a Red cable = 12v constant supply to battery via fuse No. ??) (This according to ISO is for a 12v switched supply with ignition) 8d/pin8 = Brown = Earth to E3 earthing point (Under the centre console in front of the gearstick) (Pin function is correct with ISO)” which of those cables is the “pink” one that gives the signal? Do you know that?

Help with new radio installation (elektricity cable scheme, reversing cable problem)
Hello all. I have a Skoda Fabia MK1 from 2004. I ordered a modern radio, model Essgoo SWM160C. The radio is really awesome, especially for that price. I installed it by simply unplugging the old ISO plug and plugging it into the new radio. I tested the radio with the car standing still (not driving) and everything worked perfectly. A problem arose when I started driving. From the moment I started driving, the radio screen started flickering and gave a non-stop message "begin reversing - stop reversing" and the radio is unusable. The radio has an option to connect a camera, but I don't use that so didn't install. Perhaps of interest: I have parking sensors on the back of my car. After some searching on the internet, I suspect that the problem is caused by the car's "reverse detection wire". I suspect that the car gives a signal when I am driving, which causes the radio to receive a signal (strange thing though is that the radio does it while driving in reverse but also driving forward). The manufacturer's website also contains this message: " If the screen flickers or 'No signal' appears on the machine, the machine has this problem because the pink wire on the power cord is not connected properly. First you need to ensure that the car power supply is 12V. Be sure to use the power cord we provide. The pink wire needs to be connected to the reverse detection wire of the original car. If you don't need the reversing image, you need to wrap the pink wire separately.". In the instructions manual it also says: "If the camera is not installed, please do not connect the REVERSE/BACK cable to any place, otherwise the machine will automatically enter the reverse mode, which will cause the machine to fail." I'm not so technically experienced and even with the manufacturer's explanation I still don't know what to exactly do next. Can i just cut the original pink cable of my car to solve the problem? Or how do I do it? Should I just cut the pink cable and will that solve the problem? I could really use someone smart and experienced to help me out. If someone would share their knowledge and time, i already thank you A LOT in advance! I will add a picture of the manual of the radio.

Help with new radio installation (elektricity cable scheme, reversing cable problem)
I forgot to note: in the instructions manual it also says: "If the camera is not installed, please do not connect the REVERSE/BACK cable to any place, otherwise the machine will automatically enter the reverse mode, which will cause the machine to fail." This still leaves me with the question: can i just cut the original pink cable of my car to solve the problem? Or how do I do it?
