  1. So would you say its the Electric one that causes issues generally?
  2. Interestingly it is in today at the Indy. The pump is electric I was surprised to hear. Anyone know when that change was. Car is late MY2014.
  3. Yes i do a lot on my cars but this job on a car I can’t afford to get wrong seems a bit risky.
  4. Just had my water pump go on a 74K Octavia mk3 my2015 Now getting costs to have done. so in my head this is tops £600. Independent first quote £650 and ŠKODA themselves with some 10% off promotion they are doing £1050. i am leaning to to Marshall’s ŠKODA but am genuinely surprised based on looking at older posts this is the price. What are peoples thoughts?
  5. There appears to be confusion here. To me this sounds like the auxiliary tensioner NOT the timing / cambelt. One is an easy job (why you were charged £200) and the other a big one. Aux belt visible on the left side of the engine spinning away. Tensioner at the top and likely some side to side movement if you shine a torch to get a better view. Easily diagnosed - pour a little water on I - does squeak go away? Garage going to be ripping you off if they diagnose timing belt without proving its not aux belt.
