Hi everyone, I need some advice on an issue with my Octavia Mk3 1.6 TDI (2014) which has done 117,500 miles. Recently, I've noticed a squeaky noise coming from the engine area when I start the car. The noise seems to be coming from the pulley area. Here's what I've observed and done so far: The noise was present last time I started the car and again this morning. I inspected the auxiliary drive area and all pulleys looked okay with no visible wobbling. I thought it might be the timing tensioner, so I removed the plastic cover to check the condition of the belt, which looked fine to me. After putting the cover back on and starting the car again, the noise was gone. I’m unsure what the problem could be. Based on my observations and the steps I’ve taken, what do you think might be causing the squeaky noise? Has anyone else experienced something similar? Any advice or suggestions on further diagnosing or fixing the issue would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help!
