I have a 2016 1.2tsi with 38k miles on the clock. I bought it at 23k, and around 26k I noticed clutch slip in high gears under acceleration but only when the engine was hot. I chalked it up to bad luck with a second hand car and took it to a gearbox specialist, who found the clutch was contaminated with what looked like grease. They couldn't find a source, checked the slave cylinder, main seal, bell housing, all dry and no visible source of a leak. They fitted a new clutch.
Roll on a 15 months and 12k miles, with 2 services/MOTs in between - oil and hydraulic levels have been steady at both...and I've got a slipping clutch again with exactly the same symptoms. Absolutely fine until about 25 miles or so into a drive and hot engine, then get slip under acceleration in 4/5th (E.g. overtaking on a Mway).
My last car went 96k miles on the original clutch, including me learning to drive so I'm 99.9% confident it's not my driving style, and not "regular wear and tear".
The car is going back to the team who fitted the current clutch this week - does anyone have any advice on what I should make sure they check/do? (And also things it really shouldn't be?). Thanks!
