Thanks for the reply. How do I find out what unit I have (Bolero / Amundsen)? I’ve figured out how to get the installed SW train version. Is that all I need?

Hi I’m new to Skodas and this forum so I’ll apologise in advance if this question has been asked before or is super obvious. I have an Octavia 2018 SE technology. I’ve had a few CarPlay connectivity issues where it drops out and won’t reconnect. I was considering doing a software update but local dealership is quoting £300. Two questions - if I paid the money as a one off would over the air updates be available with a newer version I.e. would it update automatically itself going forward? Second question - is it possible to do this update yourself without breaking the car- is it risky? Part of me is tempted to leave it alone - CarPlay is a minor inconvenience. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks.
