Well hello guys.
I am searching for a replacement of my current car (AR 159 1.9 JTDm) and I was looking closely to some Skoda Octavia 3. My budget is sitting around 15k Euros here in Romania (where usually the Western cars end).
I encountered 2 very interesting variations of the Octavia 3 Combi (which I prefer ofer the sedan):
1. It's a Skoda Octavia 3 Combi, 2.0 TSI 190 HP, DSG, 4x4, L&K edition from 2019 with 246k km (I know there are many km, but options are limited here). Price is 12.800 Euros negociabile. It has full history of service at Skoda, but they mention that recently they have changed the injectors, which for me sounds strange. I will also attack the link, maybe someone wants to check the options (which are plenty I would say): https://www.autovit.ro/autoturisme/anunt/skoda-octavia-2-0-tsi-dsg-4x4-laurin-klement-ID7HiGsb.html
2. This one is a Skoda Octavia 3 Combi, 2.0 TDI 184 HP, DSG, 4x4 Scout from 2019 with 220k km. Price is 14.800 Euros. This one has fiewer pictures, different options (i would dare to say less than the TSI one). They claim they also have full service history at Skoda. This is the link: https://www.olx.ro/d/oferta/skoda-scout-4x4-2019-dsg-full-led-impecabila-dotata-full-IDil4K1.html.
Just to know what I want from a car:
1. To have space (that's why I want the Combi)
2. To be some what sporty.
3. I don't use the car in city that much, usually for road trips ( i know the TDI has better fuel economy, but it's not a factor for me)
4. To not newer than 2016.
5. To not drain my pockets like the Alfa did in the past 2 years.
I have tried searching for some reviews of this TSI engine, but I found they are not that common like the vRS ones and almost inexistent in topic discussions. My question are:
1. What would you choose if, hypothetically, they were both checked and in great condition?
2. What do you know about the TSI engine?
3. Should I look fore something specific to each engine type?
4. Should I maybe check other Skoda models withing this budget?
