  1. I purely use it for Apple CarPlay, nothing else. The issue I have is that 'Loading user data...' every time you turn the car on. Sometimes it takes 5 minutes for that screen to go away, really frustrating. I also find it just disconnects my iPhone constantly meaning I have to reconnect it mid-drive which a) isn't safe and b) is super frustrating when it happens five times in a single trip.
  2. It's a year later and still haven't got this fixed, but I'm getting a bit frustrated with the 0155 bugs. @Rainesh would you be able to help me, or point me in the direction to where you've helped solve this before? All I'm missing are the files and steps to incrementally upgrade to the latest (harder to source than I thought!) TL;DR - My Amundsden unit is stuck on 0155.
  3. Further update: Contacted my local Skoda dealer this afternoon, the first person I talked to was extremely helpful, she said it's a common issue and that my software really was quite a bit behind where it should be (the latest for my 2019 model should be 0330 as of the date I'm writing this, mine is currently on 0155). They said they will cover repairing the software and bringing it up to date for a one time cost of £156 (I thought this would be much higher, from what I've read online) which will require my car to be with them for half a day. I can then update it myself from there. They also said that this issue can happen when the software self-updates but loses reception to the sattelite, which is what causes the software to get 'stuck' and prevents itself from being updated further. I'm just going to do it with WiFi connection in the future though so this hopefully won't be an issue again. Luckily I have also persuaded the dealer I bought my car from recently to contribute 50% towards this cost. Win! Let's just hope all this fixes it!
  4. Just chosen the option 'Restore Factory Settings' and so far this has seemed to make a drastic improvement on the stability of that loading user profile screen. WIll have to see how it performs over a few days to see if it's worked. So far though since doing this, I've not had that screen stick once. Let me know if this works/doesn't work for you too! Also seen on other forums that if that loading screen sticks, try pressing the voice button on the left hand of the steering wheel. Some have reported that this helps get past it. Just don't spam it as soon as you get into the car, give the screen 10 seconds first and then press it to see if it helps.
  5. Still, £138 per hour is very steep. Did they explain why it would cost that much? Was this an official Skoda dealer you visited today? No, did not buy any extended warranty.
  6. That’s fair enough if she’s happy with it. To be honest all I want is for those loading issues to be gone, all I really do is connect it to Apple CarPlay. The loading issues just make it such a pain to use.
  7. Why would you have to sign up to their service plan? And why haven’t you got rid of your Scala?
  8. Hi everyone, I recently picked up a 2019 Skoda Scala (having not owned a VW group car before) and I have an issue with my Amundsen infotainment unit. Its really buggy, and I have a feeling it's because the software is super behind on it's updates (currently at 0155). I doubt the previous driver maintained it software-speaking. I'm checking tomororrow with the dealer I purchased it off whether or not getting this updated will be covered under warranty, which I highly doubt, so I have a few questions: How much (approx) would it cost a Skoda dealer to update it for me? I've heard of updating it yourself, but that feels a bit scary. I'm very tech-savvy so I could find the right files and do it myself if really needed, but it feels risky from what I've read already online. If Skoda was to update it to the latest, could I then use the 'Update Software' button shown in the image below to keep it updated myself in the future? Some of the issues that are bugging me, in order of annoyance: When I start the car up, it shows the 'Loading Profile...' screen. It's a lottery as to whether it: Loads the menu in 5 seconds. Loads the menu in 30 seconds. Doesn't get past this screen at all, meaning i need to reset it (sometime to no avail). I can't choose the 'Update Software' option, even when connected to WiFi. It just spins endlessly if I try click that button, once for around 1 hour before I decided to give in. I can't create a profile, it just spins endlessly when I try and eventually have to reset it. Because I can't create a profile, I can't connect it to the MySkoda Essentials app. My Amundsen details: Any help you could provide would be really appreciated! Thanks
  9. Hi everyone! Just picked up a 2019 Scala SE-L 1.0 DSG from a non-Skoda dealer. Keen to join Briskoda because from a first glance, it's clear that this forum has a great community and is teeming with useful information. Happy driving!
