It happened to another guy too. The radio shows up all the weather information and many other things that, if it wasn’t communicating with the car, it wouldn’t show them.

I have already taken my car to a Volkswagen service center, and they told me that the radio is not communicating with the car. After reading various discussions on this forum, I saw that another user had the same issue and had to replace the BCM and buy a new instrument cluster. I was wondering if anyone here has done this before and could give me some advice.

Hello everyone, I need some help: I have a 2014 Skoda Citigo, and I want to install an MIB2 Entry unit from 2016 (the radio unit from the facelift model), which I already have. I tried installing it by following the discussions on this forum, but I’m struggling to understand exactly what I need to do. Let me explain: I connected the radio while matching the wiring between my original connector and the MIB2 Entry connector. The radio worked perfectly—it connected to my phone via Bluetooth, displayed the parking sensors on the screen, and turned on and off automatically when I turned the key (even reminding me not to leave my phone in the car). However, after half a day of use, the message “Component protection active” appeared, making the radio unusable. From reading multiple discussions on this forum, I understand that I may need to replace the BCM, instrument cluster, and run additional wiring from the BCM to the cluster. Can you confirm if this is the correct procedure? Also, can you tell me which BCM part number I need and whether it’s truly necessary to replace the instrument cluster with the facelift version? I’ve seen many citigo with the green instrument cluster and the face lit radio unit. For reference, my Citigo does not have steering wheel controls, and I have the basic round (calice) steering wheel, which does not support adding buttons.

Ciao a tutti , ho montato oggi la radio connettendo can bus e tutto il resto .. la radio funzionava e anche bene solo che dopo un po’ di ore di utilizzo è comparsa la scritta “protezione componenti” e ora non posso più utilizzarla . Qualcuno sa come posso risolvere ?

Io ho una Skoda citigo del 2014 e volevo montarla per ottenere finalmente il Bluetooth e dare alla mia citigo un look più moderno . Ho visto che i collegamenti delle casse sono pressoché gli stessi , il mio dubbio è questo : come faccio a collegare tutto il resto correttamente ?
