Hi all, looking for some advice as feel like my local specialist is having my pants down.
Bought my vrs 3 years ago and had nothing but problems with it. Always seems to need something replacing.
Recently started going into limp mode after flooring accelerator but fine under normal driving.
Taken it to the local specialist who I have had my doubts about in the past.
Diagnosis £60
Further investigation £250
So far pretty standard I imagine.
Report says turbo actuator seized and diaphragm split.
They've said they wouldn't just replace one turbo they would have to do both at a cost of £5,684
Asked about reconditioned turbos they said they wouldn't deal with them as too many problems.
Clearly I'm not going to pay £5k, is this just a case of them not wanting the work pricing it high.
What's people's experience of reconditioned turbos? And are they talking ****.
