  1. Update, I removed my connections to pins 16 & 17 from BCMa and 58 from BCMc and when I connected the battery the dash was back and the car started. However, there is now every fault known to Skoda now displaying, there is an air bag warning, stability warning, tire pressure warning, front collision sensor warning, and bulb failure warning. I assume these are just as a result of the wobble from BCM and not real faults. OBD diagnostics still display loss of communication to the BCM, fault codes U0140 & U0422.
  2. Hi, I have been installing a Tow bar on my MK3 Skoda Octavia Estate and last weekend completed the mechanical installation. I also mounted the 13pin socket and bought the wires through to the front of the car to connect into the fuse box and Body Control Module (BCM). Todays job was to wire in the Towing electrics into the BCM and Fuse box. I removed the +ve terminal from the battery and then removed the glove box, entertainment module and fuse board. I remove the BCM plugs and and bridged onto pins 16 and 17 from BCMA and then pin 58 from BCMc, connected the live terminals to the fuse board and put the fuses in. I then put all the plugs back together and reconnected to the BCM, and reconnected all plugs from the glove box and entertainment center. I then reconnected the +ve terminal to test the wiring, went to turn on the ignition to start he car, and nothing, the dash is dead. The interior lights are on and the back doors lock and unlock on the key fob but the fronts do not. I plugged the scanner into the OBD socket and got a connection so went to read the error codes, and it is saying it has lost communication with the BCM. Have I fried the BCM? If so I don't understand how. More importantly how do I fix it before Monday so that I can get to work?
