Hi Skoda fabia owners, last year i bought a new Skoda fabia from Skoda heritage Gloucester, this was my third new fabia i have bought from them.
On the same day i collected the car myself and my family went on a sort mini break and we had just got of the m5 junction 24 when the Emissions Control Light came on we managed to get to Yeovil where we was staying. Next day the light would come on and then go home.
We decided to keep the millage as low as possible and when Arriving home i took it straight to the dealer.
They took it inside the workshop and when it was returned to me i was told it just need re setting and there should be no further issues.
In February this year i had just picked up my sons from school when this light came on and also the EPC Light.
I took it next day to the dealership when they had a quick look and reset the settings. This was o.k for a few days but the following Monday this happened 5 times on the estate i live on and i then took the car to the dealership. A couple of days later the dealership phoned to ask if i had put any additives in the car petrol which i had not, i went to the dealership where i was shown the fuel rail from my car which had what they claimed to be an unknown liquid. Two days later they phoned to say to contact my insurance company and claim a miss fuel. I had the previous 5 weeks fuel receipts (all from Tesco apart from one from Sainsburys) which said i had bought unleaded which is the correct fuel from my car. A week later i collected the car and have not had any issues until last Wednesday when the problem started to occur again. I cannot go round a corner at an average speed or go over a sleeping policeman when the problem occurs. I turn the ignition off and switch the car back on and both light which had come on is now out and the car is back to normal and goes like it should. When the lights come on the car goes into limp mode and starts to stutter.
Has anyone else on the forum had the same problem or know the actual cause could be. Any help and advice would be most helpfull. Best Regards Andrew
