DSG boxes on 1.0 and 1.5 engines?
Thanks - I ask because we've had a Berlingo and a Citroen C5 (both diesel) with DSG, and the C5 is a good deal smoother, also newer. Both gearboxes are a bit hesitant and can be jerky at low speeds, but very smooth faster, and they work great with adaptive cruise control. I read a review that said the Skoda 1.0 3 cyclinder petrol engine has lots of low down torque so feels a bit like a small diesel (which sounds good), whereas the 1.5 petrol is smoother and quieter and almost as economical - so either sound good.

DSG boxes on 1.0 and 1.5 engines?
I'm homing in on buying probably a 2020 Kamiq. Can anyone tell me if the DSG boxes fitted to 1.0 and 1.5 cars of that period differ? Does one work better than the other, require more expensive maintenance, or work better with adaptive cruise control? Thanks, Max

2020 Kamiq with ACC - opinions?
Yes, that's the kind of thing I want to avoid. My Citroen often displays the 20mph limit on side roads as we pass them in 30-50 limits. The DSG/ACC stop/start thing is really useful on queuing A roads, like when they all slow down to admire Stonehenge :)

2020 Kamiq with ACC - opinions?
T I have 'display only' TSR on the Citroen, and judging by the number of mistakes it makes, display only is more than enough, in fact I've switched it off.

2020 Kamiq with ACC - opinions?
I'm looking at a 2020 Kamiq SEL as a second car, which has the fairly rare 'adaptive' cruise control (not 'predictive adaptive'). I've had mixed experiences with ACC on two Citroens. My recent C5 has it, and it works great and very smoothly so long as you remember that all it really does is keep you on station with the car in front and stop you running into it. Before that had an older Berlingo. That had ACC that it worked, but that system braked fairly hard and later than I'd have liked, then accelerated fairly hard. Does anyone know what the Kamiq system from 2020 etc models is like please? I ask 'cos I use ACC a lot on my Citroen, and I'd like to know if the Skoda system is good. Thanks, Max

Karoq ride and noise - wheel size/model?
I'm hoping to buy the quietest and smoothest riding model of 1.5 petrol Karoq, so: 1) A Skoda sales guy tells me the Drive and SE L trims have exactly the same sound deadening kit. Is that the case in your experience, or does the SE L have more sound deadening overall? 2) Would I be right in thinking that bigger wheels means lower profile tyres, more road noise, and a harsher ride - so e.g. a 17" wheel car is likely to be better (with the same tyres) in these areas than one with bigger wheels? Or have they improved the suspension so e.g. the current model SE L with 18" wheels is as quiet as e.g the older 17" wheeled Technology ? Thanks!

Is a rear view parking camera standard on the Technology model Karoq?
Thanks Croque. If there was an option to have 16" steel wheels and high profile tyres I'd take it! The fashion is for ever bigger alloys, but I find big wheel/low tyre combinations noisy, and expensive to repair when a pothole gets you. I can afford e.g. a Sportline, but I won't be getting one as my biggest mileage is a 270 mile each way 'follow' the leader' type trip on A roads. I like listening to music as I drive, not suspension noise and road rumble - so the best Karoq for me might be a low mileage loaded 2021 Technology (alloys, but 17" ones), if I can find one...

Is a rear view parking camera standard on the Technology model Karoq?
Can someone please tell me if a rear view parking camera is standard on the Technology model Karoq? I have an awkward parking place to get into, and It's something often not listed on the Skoda used car info site. Thanks, Max

Responsive and fair Skoda dealer Surrey/Sussex/Hants?
Sorry, just found the Dealer Review pages on Briskoda - if someone wants to move the above post there (or not...), I'm happy.

Responsive and fair Skoda dealer Surrey/Sussex/Hants?
Hi: can anyone recommend a fair and responsive used Skoda dealer in Surrey, Sussex, or Hampshire please (I'm Guildford based)? I'm looking for a Karoq with adaptive cruise, probably a used car. I'm told (on this board) that some models (Technology?) had adaptive rather than regular cruise fitted as standard, but from dealer listings I'm not sure if that's correct. That's no great shock, as my current Berlingo turned out to have stuff fitted that the dealer didn't know about (e.g. self parking...). This board also tells me VW group adaptive cruise is retrofittable - thanks. That checks out a (just) affordable price, but as it involves the braking system I'd rather have a factory fit. Thanks, Max

AdBlue system on diesel Karoq?
Thanks Elegant70: I was thinking of the 116 bhp 2.0 2wd diesel, which claims astonishing fuel economy. I mostly drive out of large towns, and IF it's as good as Skoda claim, that should be good for 70+mpg on a long run. However I now know that many of these are bought by high mileage drivers, there aren't many about, and even fewer have adaptive cruise control, which I want. I might end up with a 1.0 dsg SE L Tech with ACC if I can find the right one.

AdBlue system on diesel Karoq?
Do the 116 and 150bhp 2.0 diesels use the same auto boxes? I noticed one of the chip tuners 'eco' tune (stage 1/2?) gives 180-odd bhp, if I remember correctly, for both engines.

Quietest Karoq?
Thanks Croquemonsieur, that's very useful. I'll see if I can find one of those. ACC isn't for everyone, but I think it's great for what I want to do with it.
