  1. Thanks @robs12 . That worked a treat!
  2. Hi @robs12 This do the job? https://ebay.us/m/IBl1VG
  3. @PetrolDave I've now purchased a CARLY reader. Here's the message: Having cleared and read again, a slightly different message about communication with the ECU. Any ideas please?
  4. Thanks. Will get a scan carried out.
  5. Out of the blue, I’m getting a light assist fault. Fine one day, not the next. Fault clears if lights are switched from auto to manual but fault returns if main beam is reselected. Any ideas? Thanks. .
  6. Ah right! That makes sense. Thanks @PetrolDave
  7. - back on this one again! Following my original query, i was able to complete a successful map upgrade. However, this time, the SD card is not large enough to deal with any map updates with the UK.... Does this mean that in order to keep up to date with maps, I need to purchase a more recent Skoda/VW SD card? If so, how can I tell what size they are? Looking on ebay, there are loads but no indication of capacity. Thanks David
  8. @Scout-MKIII - excellent video and some sound advice too! Many thanks!
  9. Anyone replaced the rather gloomy puddle lights fitted into the wing mirrors with LED lamps? If so, what bulb did you use and how did you gain access to the bulb in the mirrors? Thanks David
  10. @JD52 Worked fine - thanks again.
  11. Thanks @PetrolDave..old IT Dog here! Made a copy to my PC - using XCOPY and I can see the two system files now.
  12. OK thanks @JD52 - will give that a whirl!
  13. OK - I tried to copy the extracted files to the Skoda card but it failed as there was insufficient space. On checking the Skoda card there is no security partition visible ( I've got show hidden files on. Feels like an 'add' rather than a copy(replace)? I only need the GB files - is it possible to select just the relevant files and copy across? Feels like an old DOS XCOPY would be handy here!!!
  14. I've been on the Skoda Update Portal, entered my VIN and then downloaded the Sat Nav Map update Zip file. I also downloaded the update manual. I inserted the SD card with the update on but got an error message as no map data was found - here is a screenshot of the SD card conetents: q1. Does this look correct? q2. Should I have the original Skoda Sat Nav SD card inserted AND the update card in the spare slot? Thanks Attached the doc too. amundsen_MIB_2.pdf
  15. Thanks Dave - that'll be a 'no' then! 😁. You've saved me a load of time - much appreciated. @PetrolDave
  16. Hi - is it possible to replace the standard DRL bulbs (fitted in the main lighting unit) with LED versions? Thanks David 2014 Octavia 1.6 TDi Elegance.
