I looked at the sat nav update site, entered my VIN and it said Amundsen Would consider it if I could just replace the unit in the glove box but replacing the dash screen would likely be a pain

I've recently bought a MK3 VRS, fitted with an Amundsen sat nav media player. I've worked out that I should be able to swap it out with a similar unit which includes a CD player. I don't like the idea of having an external one as where will it sit. On the screen on the dash, there's no CD player. If I change the unit will cd player appear in the media screen?
