  1. Sounds like a good deal. I did put in a small piece on the left side now which seems to have worked fine. On the right side I still have the old brake hose in since there is no space for me to fit a small repair brake line in case it shears off. My local Skoda dealer wants 3500nok to replace the brake line on one side and 7500nok for both. I can only understand that price if they actually take apart the rear part of the car to replace the entire brake line. I'm not too sure if I want to do that. Seems way to excessive for just replacing the hose to have a proper seal between the hose and the caliper again.
  2. Hi, I'm in the process of replacing the rear brakes on my 2011 Octavia 1.6TDI including discs, pads, calipers and brake hoses. I ran into the following issue: On the left side when trying to remove the screw connecting brake hose to the metal brake line not only the screw twisted but the line with it and sheared off. I cut of a small part of the brake line to a straight part where I could attach a small replacement brakepipe to repair it (see picture). On the right side I have not touched the brake line-hose connection yet since the brake line is directly lead over the axle to the left side so there is no easily accessible place where a repair brake line could start. Both brake lines (left and right) run until approx. under the drivers seat where there is a connector to the lines going all the way to the front. The brake lines are available from my local Skoda dealer. From just looking at the routing of the lines (over the axle and tank) I'm unsure how changing the entire brake line would work. Has anybody done that before and knows what might need to come off to have enough space to fit the new brake lines in as well? I did not find any usefull information online or in repair manuals. How would Skoda replace the line if it would shear off on the right side when I would request a new brake hose? I'm hesitant to tackle the right side as I don't see any possibility with a small repair piece as on the left side and don't want to risk have the car in the driveway without a working brake but also not being able to replace the entire brake line if that would require taking almost the entire rear car appart. Any information regaring how the full lines can be replaced and what preparation is needed for that, potential places for partial brake line replacement to only deal with a shorter brake line or tricks on how to be able to losen the screw to get the hose off without destroying the brake line is highly appreciated. Cheers, Nico
  3. Hi all, I'm located in Norway and new to Skoda. I enjoy working on my cars myself wherever possible and gotten myself into a 2011 Octavia Combi 4x4 1.6 TDI with the higher suspension which is a great combo for norwegian winter Hoping the forum can be helpful to get some answers when working on the car and not finding answers anywhere else online or in repair manuals. Cheers, Nico
